A few years ago, if you typed the name of the town of Scunthorpe into any online post, the over-fussy and too zealous modbots, those little bits of software that filter rude words out of postings and replace them with ****, would remove part of the name.
Now it turns out that Scunthorpe is the fastest growing online hub in the UK. Oh, what irony π

Lies, damn lies and statistics FEEG.
It says S****horpe has the fastest growing online activity @ (see what I did there?) 47%.
Now imagine a sleepy village in the cotswolds, where an old dear has a computer. She logs on once a week to see pictures of her grandson in Oz lets say.
Now lets imagine her sister comes to stay and logs on each saturday to check her premium bonds. Sleepyville has just increased its online activity be precisely 100%, knocking S****horpe into the middle of next week.
Ferret: It was reported in the Telegraph, so it must be true. Also, Google do not get things wrong very often (apart from Buzz of course) π
Your Scunthopre picture should be in the latest photo comp ‘every picture tells a story.’
O
Not mine,, I am afraid. π¦
Are you sure Scunthorpe exists?
Or just a figment in a miasmic haze?
Oh yes, been there, got the T-shirt. Miasma is a pretty accurate description, though!
