Misson complete – many thanks everyone.
There were thirteen men involved in the Gunpowder plot – I’ve only found pictures for ten of them… who are they?
The last three conspirators were Ambrose Rookwood, Robert Keyes and John Grant.

Number 8 is Guy Fawkes.
Christopher – right!
I remember well your excellent post (were there two, was it last year ?) where you gave us all the background and detail of the conspiracy and conspirators.
Unfortunately all I remember is enjoying reading them but none of the detail.
So, there will be no entries from me (unless of course I get a sudden flashback.)
😕
They all look the same to me 😦

I suspect that this might be a little hard – the names are not that well known. I was tempted to put all the names up and let people ‘guess’. I may well have to do that!
I think Number 3 is Robert Catesby.
I do not see Fr Henry Garnet there, though I did find a picture of him. But I am not sure if he is one of your 13 as he was against the plot, though he was executed for it.
I found this blog site which is quite fun.

I didn’t include Henry Garnet, Nicholas Owen or any of the other Catholics who were ’rounded’ up and executed for being involved in the plot. It’s pretty clear that none of them knew anything.
I’ve just finished re-reading a book about the Plot…
Hi Sipu – I see that I forgot to say number 3 was right. It’s a shame that the straw got lost during the French Revolution.
Mornin’ Boadicea. My knowledge of history is on a par with my understanding of grammar and I’m not going to get any of the remaining names without giving Google a severe thrashing. Having just read Bearsy’s latest offering, I may well need to lie down for a while anyway.
Sob!

If no one gets any in a few hours time I’ll put up the names for people to guess… 🙂
Number 3 could be Bates, he was actually there, I think. Although, Bates could be Number 10! 😕
Bates was one of the conspirators – but he isn’t 3 or 10!
Oops, was he Number 1? We’re not doing very well with this one!
Yes!
I think #3 was one of the Wintour or Winter brothers, but I am not sure which one.
Bum, bum, bum. I meant #2
Good morning Boadicea,
#4 Thomas Percy?
Well Done FEEG and JW
Is #9 Francis Tresham who gave the plot away? Of course I don’t approve of any of them, trying to blow up a good Scottish king we gave them.
Sheona – Correct.
Number 6 is Digby, I believe.
Number 10. Robert Wintour, according to my research. 😉
Well done – Araminta. I think this one was a bit too hard!
I’m looking for the additional names, Boadicea. Would Rookwood and Keyes be two of them?
Forgot to say, Number 5 is Christopher Wright, and Number 7 is his brother, John.
The final missing conspirator is John Grant, I think.
Well done Araminta! The next one will definitely be a bit easier!
Oh good, well, this one did become slightly easier by a process of elimination, Boadicea.
The missing three were a little harder to track down. 🙂
Boadicea.
You must please say if you would like the quiz to stay open for longer. I usually leave it for some time before I start researching in the absence of answers.
I think this one was open for too long! I’m glad you did go ‘researching’. I reckon that if the quiz isn’t finished by about 8,00 pm then it’s definitely time for someone to put it out of its agony… I think there’s only been one that hasn’t been finished.
🙂
