  1. Bow, hug, curtsey, shake hands ???? What was the question again?

Must say that the little I saw reported on the news HRM handled the whole introduction fiasco with typical aplomb, good for her!

  2. His Imperial Majesty, the Regent Green Emperor, is sitting on his own throne in the Forbidden City whispering his orders to the Juliar Empress. His word is law in the Celestial Australian Kingdom.

  3. Well expressed, Christopher.
My Chinese history / mythology / literature is poor, but perhaps the Monkey King can rescue us? 🙂

If Saint Rudd failed, a monkey has no chance 😦

  5. Mr Bear: Kuan-in works many wonders. Petition the Goddess of Mercy and she may grant your wish. Maybe taking a journey to the west might help?

Paintho: This isn’t an ordinary monkey, it’s a special monkey.

  6. Xie xie.
My knowledge in this field is almost entirely drawn from Kylie Chan’s entertaining books, but that gives me enough to understand The Journey to the West. 🙂

  7. Very good!

Damn your blasted PM – how on earth can us republicans get any good press? 😀

  8. Love the cartoon, Bearsy. I felt a bit sorry for your Juliar getting all that stick about not curtseying. She bowed, which is quite acceptable, although generally the masculine form of greeting. Still if Juliar feels more Bruce than Sheila, that’s her business.

Not when she is representing Australia. Even some of our Republicans felt it was an unnecessary display of bad manners… the Queen is still our head of State. But, Juliar has long forgotten that she is where she is because she is supposed to be representing the Australian people.

You may not be aware that on the main entrance to the lower house in Parliament there is a bright shiny brass plate (or there was when I visited) which states quite clearly that it is the House of Representatives …

  10. Cuprum: you could always elect Obama as your leader. I’m sure you could get at least 200 million Americans who would be happy to see him off and at least 100 million who would help him pack.
