It appears that the Danish have banned Marmite, along with lots of other foodstuffs, on the grounds that they are fortified. I bet they do not ban sherry or port!
What is the world coming too!
(And no, I do not make a habit of reading the Grauniad. This was sent to me by a friend)
Er, FEEG, might I refer you to an earlier post of yours, back in May? ๐

Ah yes, but as also noted on that post…….

Sorry to rain on your parade, FEEG, but it was never banned, just put on a list of foods for which a licence is required. The importer(s) didn’t get a licence.
PS akshully they aren’t particularly civilised. ๐
Well, it was reported as banned in the Grauniad. I thought it meant that the previous issue had previously been resolved. I suppose that is the Grauniad for you ๐ฆ
Never trust the Grauniad….. ๐
I love Marmite. I remember giving it to my Son as a baby. He shuddered, and screwed his face with every lick of the rusk, but couldn’t resist keep licking, then yelled for more when he’d licked it off. We are a family of Marmite lovers.
Right you lot, I am about to share with you a culinary masterpiece. This particular gastronomic masterpiece was the mainstay of a working breakfast back in my days on Search and Rescue.
“The Scooby Snack” (not available in Denmark apparently)
Ingredients
Four slices of raw toast (bread).
Marmite
Thinly sliced mature cheddar
Crunchy Peanut butter
Best butter
Method
Prepare all the ingredients prior to toasting the bread, a scooby snack is best hot.
Put the bread in the toaster.
Take two slices and butter one side of each.
Spread peanut butter good n thick and make a sandwich.
Butter the top of the sandwich and one side of the third slice.
Lay the cheddar on to cover the toast and place slice 3 on top.
Butter the top of slice 3 and one side of slice 4.
Caution: During the next step it is tempting to insert the buttery knife into the marmite jar, this of course is a cardinal sin and punishable by death from a thousand buttery cuts.
Spread Marmite thickly on top of slice 3.
Place slice 4, butter side down on top.
Brace yourself.
Enjoy.
Furry, only Lurpak here.
