Some of you may remember my Casual Day post where I explained that down here we have a national programme allowing people to go to work on the 1st Friday in September dressed either casually or join in with the Rock star theme for the purchase of a R10.00 (£1) sticker.
I mentioned that we were hoping to sell about 3,000 of them, we (Autism Eastern Cape) receiving a 40% share. Well, we sold almost 5,500! Beyond our wildest dreams, this being our first time at participating in the sale of stickers.
Needless to say it was a festive funfilled day.
Our local radio station joined in with a corporate challenge, ‘Worn to be Wild’ they called it, offering a R10,0000 (£1,000) advertising contract to the business which, in their opinion submitted the best photos of their staffs efforts, I’ve added a couple below with a link to the gallery for those of you who feel like having a laugh.
Even one of Freddie for our local admirer 😉

Looks like it was a fun day Soutie and pleasing to see so many ‘youngs’ (as opposed to ‘olds’) involved.

Great fun post, Soutie. Wish I was there.
The guy in the last photo. The moustache is all wrong. 😉
What a wonderful way to raise money.
Delighted to know that your organisation did so well!
Good job, Soutie 😀
Brilliant result, and good for you and all your hard work.
Well done. 🙂
So pleased you had such a successful and enjoyable day, Soutie. 🙂 I know how much you care about the children.
Howzit everybody, thanks for your kind words and good wishes.
As I mentioned, an unbelievably successful fundraiser for Autism Eastern Cape, there is however a downside and that is our Chairlady will in all likelihood double our quotas for next year and expect sales in excess of 10,000!
That’ll be fun 🙂
Well done. 🙂
Thanks, a great team effort 🙂
