14th Photographic Competition Result

Good evening.

As Prince Charlie trudged back from Derby on his way to defeat at Culloden or as Napoleon scuttled back to France from the gates of Moscow and to his Waterloo, you can’t help wondering if their overwhelming thought might have been – Big Mistake!

If it was, I know how they feel. I was surprised to win #13 but I then made the effort to check previous topics to make sure that I was not re-iterating. This, for the record, is the result of my research for the next winner:-

6th ‘The Force of Nature’ set by Pseu and won by cwj who passed to Low Wattage to set competition
5th ‘Patterns’ set by Bravo and won by Pseu
4th ‘Civil Twilight’ set by cwj and won by Bravo
3rd ‘Contrasts’ set by Ara and won by cwj
2nd ‘Forest, landscape or horizon that might interest a wolf’ set by OZ and won by Ara
1st ‘Sunlight and Clouds’ set by Pseu and won by OZ.

I tried to set what I thought was a slightly different task but I clearly failed to win hearts and minds, judging by the lack of response which ended up as Tocino (declared non entry), Bilby and Soutie.

I have also tried to suggest to toc that he should withdraw the non-entry status but he hasn’t.

So, it’s between Bilby and Soutie. And it has to be Bilby.

Jocks are very fond of sheep, particularly those with attitude. Most of her working sheep are definitely doing the ‘Are you looking at me, pal?’ stare. Her resting sheep are definitely resting.

Congratulations, Bilby. I agree with you that it is time enough to re-instate the CW competition, in my opinion.

Captain Lawrence Oates was a fine man, by the way. I intend to follow his example for a while.

    Enjoy your break, John, hope it’s nothing too serious. On a lighter note, Alfie can now chew the wires to his heart’s (of Midlothian’s) content.

    With lack of responses, John Mac had a hard task to perform, and I congratulate his decision. Good work Mr John. Don’t be away too long, you’ll be missed, in the meantime, I wish you well whilst you take a break.

    Sorry your comp was lacking in entries. I thought it was interesting, but quite challenging. Luckily, a couple of my recent photos seemed to fit the bill.
