The original content of this post was removed by the author to avoid giving further exposure to a likely fake letter. Apologies are extended to the site owners for not confirming the veracity of the letter and making what was proved to be an unsupportable critique of the management’s diligence.
He’s a monarchist. What do you expect?
Seriously though, Christopher, it’s probably not unusual for PMs in Commonwealth countries to support each other in his way. Think of Dave as a kindly uncle writing to a niece with problems!
This chain letter, like many like it, is doing the rounds on the Internet just now, not sure if they sent a copy to Mr C as well though ๐
I’d rather we send them all a P45. If they’re not corrupt they’re incompetent.
I would request that the spoof bit be removed as I found this letter on the official facebook page of the Australian Monarchist League and this was duly uploaded by the management, hence it is not a spoof. I am aware of the number of spoof letters attributed to Australian prime ministers and public figures, thus am cautious.
I did not add the annotation lightly or without research.
The “letter” has no existence other than its appearance in the “Notes” section of the AML’s Facebook page, as far as I can determine from searches.
Other than its appearance in Facebook, it has been copied to a few chat sites such as this one, but appears nowhere with any authority.
Philip Benwell is a character with a dubious background.
Until such time as there is independent proof of provenance and publication, the annotation will stand.
Bearsy: and I will stand corrected.
