Hot. Damn hot. And sticky. I came home from work and had a cool shower: the car gets so very hot when journeys are short and there’s often nowhere to park in the shade outside each visit. Showered and changed I sat down with the office window open.
About half an hour ago I heard splashes: huge wet drops falling on dry leaves. I looked out to see the tarmac blackening and then the drift of sulphurous Summer rain came up to the window. At first just a few drops, which stopped… then a while later a heavier fall, enough to make puddles. It’s still hot, but less sticky.
Leaf of the passionfruit vine: I had to trim this monster at the weekend.
We’ve had some lovely days: lots of gardening done, meals outdoors and windows flung wide at night.I’m loving it.
What’s the weather like with you?
I’m hot and sticky, the weather is too, and these bloody hover flies that have appeared in the last couple of hours, are driving me bonkers, has the heat brought them out, I wonder?
I’m going to have something long and cool in a moment, can I get you a drink while I’m at the fridge Pseu?
Super photo by the way.
thank you!
Thunder now! Woo hooo!
Had dinner outside this evening. Classic summer evening here – blue wispy sky. This is what summer is supposed to be like. Just needed a hammock to fall asleep in!
Loverly.
I bought some citronella burney things and we had them wafting past us last night. Very continental.
Yes, we had those citronella candles burning constantly like eternal flames in the mozzie-infested loo and shower of our apartment in St Lucia. I think the mosquitoes were soothed into a kind of torpor by the fragrance. I saw several of them just sitting about.
Mozzies! The bane of summer life! 😦
Well, it made an attempt to rain last night, but the few drops that fell, were hardly worth the effort.
The ground is wet here and the air still quite heavy – cloudy. .
We have an almost cloudless sky, but for how long, I don’t know.
Ah, the weather has broken! Back to usual English summer – grey skies and occasional rain.
And who to blame? B&B travel back home to winter in Oz today – I suspect they have taken the sun with them! 😀
