  1. My Dad’s still with us, bless him, as is my Mum. 85 and still does the Telegraph crossword on the flight between Liverpool and Faro. They’re spending the inheritance at a rate of knots, though – and long may it be so. 🙂

  2. When my dad died .. I was 15 … 4 days later my mum threw me out on the streets because it turned out that all the time my dad had been in hospital dying she’d been having an affair with another man 😦

36 or so years later the man was dying and they asked “me” to look after him during his final days (I have a class 2 ambulance ticket)

It was up to me to give him the morphine shots and ,,,,,,,

    🙂

  3. I imagine we all wish we’d been more ‘present’ when our parents’ time was up. ‘If only I’d said this’ or ‘If only I’d done that’ before it was too late. The fact is none of us gets the chance for a dress rehearsal before the event and, speaking for myself, it was an experience I hadn’t prepared myself for. RIP Mum and Dad.
