Following on from Tocino’s post and the concerns expressed by several charioteers,
in case anyone is worried about the wellbeing of said mustelid, I can confirm he is in fine form thus far, although I am not sure where he is at the moment to be honest – probably off somewhere trying to placate a very miffed Ethel. Beloved is besporting herself around the pool in blissful ignorance of the impending crisis.
We have had a few bottles of Campo da Gruta (Cave Country)

in the past days and consumed epic quantities of boar, smoked salmon and sea bass and the pair of them have chilled out to the point of exhaustion.

We have sat up late under the stars and put the world to rights. The impending crisis referred to above is that I have developed in the past twenty-four hours an uncontrollable twitch in my left jowl and a slight drool despite being plastered in Ferretinell patches and, to make matters worse, it’s full moon on Friday.
I have a dream……….

OZ
Great post OZ. Love the pic’s.
P.S. Was this all your own work? 🙂
Obrigado, Toc and yes it is all my own work, including the HTML (breathes on claws and polishes them on chest)
OZ
Crikey.
Lol. Pleased that you have all been having fun. You have both been missed.
Hiya Pseu. Is that a “crikey” for the furry one or for my new-found HTML skills?
OZ
Both really. Double crikey.
OZ: Great Post, well done.
The link from your comment in “What do you think” to the empty seaside seat is a classic.
The plot thickens (together with the gravy).
Wonderful! 🙂
I’m just having a giggle here.
LW 😀
OZ
Love it! Great pictures!
Very creative!
Yoo hoo, PapaG! Hope all is well with you and yours. Wanna couple of ferrets?
Christina – I think you taking Eff for a while would be a match born in heaven. 🙂 Any chance?
OZ
Snif, sniff sniff! Hello Auntie Bilby. If Christina says no, we really do need to talk – soon! Same goes for Auntie Araminta.
OZ
Auntie Araminta thinks that Eff has more sense than to abandon The Cave for the Boonies (back of beyond, anywhere on the US mainland). Hates gardening, manic depressives and snow!
She was Properly Finished, and knows when she is well off! Send her back with the Furry One and when she’ll be happy to come back to her nearest and dearest!
Well that’s the plan, anyway, but don’t tell her we’ve moved!
oops, “then”, not “when”.
I’m calling Pickfords right now!
But more importantly, did you like the pen? 😉
Auntie Bilby is keeping a low profile, Oz. Dear Eff was indeed Properly Finished, but I don’t wish to be. 😉
I did warn you lot that blog comms may be a little sparse, I heard there was a rumbling of concern and felt the need to put your assembled minds at ease.
Beloved and I arrived safely and have settled in to the strange customs of the wolf. I have no doubt his intentions are honourable but the call of nature should never be underestimated. OZ is friendly, helpful and the perfect host but I cant help but notice a certain glint to that lupine eye and a disconcerting tremble in his rear paw. I also note, the significant supply of ferret patches has dwindled to alarmingly low levels.
Out of self preservation, I am blogging to you from a bush conveniently located between a rabbit warren and a dwelling with unsecured wi-fi. The dozey bunnies here have never seen a ferret and its like shooting fish in a barrel. There is plenty for me and more than enough to leave at the mouth of the cave in the hope of sating the wolfs voracious appetite. You cant tell but I am typing in a whisper lest I reveal my position.
No pics I am afraid for fear that the lens glare might give me away.
I have to go now, I see more dumb wabbits begging to be eaten.
I promise to blog at length soon about this fantastic place.
Blimey, Furry, it sounds er brilliant! I didn’t doubt you would all be having a good time, though.
Nice to know you are still alive though. 😉
Araminta – The pen is the absolute mutt’s nuts, as is the matching lady’s version Ferret has brought for the NSW! 🙂
OZ
I thought you might say that, OZ. They are exceedingly desirable writing implements, and crafted with care. Not to mention the delivery service. 😉
LOL! Excellent visuals, OZ although I hope the pot thing remains merely a dream.
Oh, and a lovely pool!
“They are exceedingly desirable writing implements…” That would be sarf Oxfordshire-speak for “The pen is the absolute mutt’s nuts”, then. 😀
Thank you, Jan. Ferret mentioned that the pool picture has a certain Hockney-esque quality about it, but he really should have more pressing issues on his mind. The moon is awfully big tonight but not quite there yet…….
OZ
“in the past days and consumed epic quantities of boar, smoked salmon and sea bass and the pair of them have chilled out to the point of exhaustion.”
OZ my old cyber buddy, I still get the feeling that the Ferret has had to sing for his supper in the form of some serious IT tuition. Other than the blip that you quickly deleted, which I guess happened when the Ferret had left you on your own, your IT skills have changed out of all recognition.
Well done, Bearsy will be proud of you.:-)
Oh, now I understand what you mean! Stupid wolf. 🙂
OZ
Fake! Fake! Fake! Ferrets ears “droop”, they do not stand straight as in the pictures above 😦
I fear Ferret has been “consumed” 🙂
Oz, I think a closeup of the wine-cooler would do well in the ‘reflections’ photo comp.
Mornin’ Donald – the mustelid’s ears only droop when he is confined on that cold, rainy little island of his and I can confirm he continues to earn his keep here. Not only is he the creator of “exceedingly desirable writing implements” but my front doorstep is piled high with rabbits, which saves me the faff of hunting for lunch. I’m still feeling twitchy, though and the moon is nearly full.
G’morgen, Janus. I had the same idea. 🙂
OZ
LOL OZ now put those hackles down and be a nice wolfie.
Yes, I’m partial to a bit of Hockney. I liked Bigger Splash or whatever it was called.
Yes Ma’am, but I have to tell you I am fighting a losing battle against my lupine urges……
OZ
How do you feel about frying pans and rolling pins, OZ? I don’t think Ferret’s Beloved is going to stand idly by while you convert him into hors d’oeuvres and she may make use of handy household implements.
I laugh in the face of kitchen implements. Ha ha!! Ferret may be hors d’oeuvres, but Beloved is dessert.
Mwahahahaha!..(Strokes whiskers).
Full moon on Friday!
OZ
‘Ee’s gorn! Baggared orf! Legged it to the aeroporto with Beloved in tow as soon as I mentioned tomorrow’s full moon. Was it something I said?
OZ
As I told you on the secret bat phone …… don’t tuck a napkin under your chin 😦
Woo Hoo!
Home safe and sound OZ.
Happy Birthday Chum.
There was a bit of a delay at the aeroporto last night but nowt serious.
Many thanks once again for a brilliant week, we enjoyed every minute. You were the perfect host and a class A chef. Not bad for a wolf.
Now to get on with wading through my mountain of e-mails. Grrrrr
Hee hee, Ferret. It was my pleasure and pleased you enjoyed it. Please give Beloved a hug from me. I’ve been invited out for lunch today and I may well have a swim afterwards. I have a further appointment this evening with Snowy’s staff and their family and may need another swim before bedtime. It’s 29º at the moment and scheduled for the mid-30s by noon.
Have a nice day 😀
