A great week away in Devon, many places visited we stayed at Coleton Fishacre in the Chauffeurs flat, the house was owned by the D’OYLY CARTE family so all 1920’s/30’s. Of an evening we had the 18 acre garden right down to the sea all to ourselves. Day 2 and we visited Greenway, Agatha Christies home, what an interesting woman and the house was as you would expect, interesting and full of every nick nack going, a complete mess, but fantastic.

Some really great images here, rick
Lovely part of the country and great photos, Rick. Thank you.
I haven’t been to Dartmouth for ages, we called in on the way back from Fowey a few years ago just in time for the Dartmouth Regatta.
I’ll come back to this blog Rick if I may, I’m really busy just now, but I’m anxious to see your photos and read it properly. I’ll be back.
I’m really curious that a rosa mundi bloom should still have been available for photography.
That ought to have been and gone in June, especially in south Devon. They could not have had such good weather down there as touted in the press. Maybe it was in the shade.
Very nice pictures, enjoy the rest of your holiday.
I can’t decide which photograph I like best, so they all get 10/10, although one of the implements in image, Dartmouth, looks like one hell of a corkscrew Rick. The others are excellent, I love them. Sounds like a good holiday all round, it looks lovely there.
CoB yes the flower was in the shade on the hillside overlooking the river Dart.
Val the implements look like giant ear cleaners.
The scenery in South Devon was stunning all the coves and rivers leading down to the sea, knocks the spots of Dorset or Cornwall. Took over 400 photos
Akshully it was used to encourage the sopranos to reach the top notes in the G & S operettas! 🙂
Thank God I’m not losing my touch! (re flower)
The South Hams are particularly lovely and all too hideously expensive. My brother bought a house there decades ago and scandalised the neighbours by digging up his front lawn and planting potatoes.
He always has been a little strange, even by my standards!!!
