Bravo: the British are much like the Japanese in that way. The Japanese tend to be cool, calm, and collected people. They tend to communicate through innuendo and gesture rather than do anything which might lead to any sort of confrontation. When pushed too far, however, it becomes almost frightening. I will hibernate for the day – much as I did on the great ‘Chas & Di Day’ – I have no doubt that despite the Republican influence here the media will jump on the band-wagon and it will be wall-to-wall..
However, having said that I’m with Christopher “Sod the lot, they’re all the bottom of the barrel’. Perhaps if they had to pay the full cost of policing their protests they might think twice about taking to the streets.
Boadicea: I will be, as always, in class when the wedding is set to take place so I cannot celebrate too much. Perhaps I will have a cuppa in their honour and buy some English cheeses the next day to have with dinner along with a glass of moscato.

Why can’t they all be given permission to demonstrate on Salisbury Plain, which I’m sure won’t be in use that day? Then they could fight it out among themselves. If anyone does try to disrupt the wedding procession, I think there may be a danger of them decorating the lamp-posts as well as the bunting.
