Dear fellow Charioteers,
Apologies for the absence this past week, especially for Bearsy’s birthday post, but I have been somewhat preoccupied.
The NSW came over for lunch last Saturday looking less than her perfect best, to be honest. It transpired later in the day she was already suffering from the onset of a mild and innocuous girly version of Wolf Flu which seems to have laid her low until this afternoon (Friday) when, after spending the intervening days curled up quietly in a warm and straw-filled corner of The Cave, she felt compus enough finally to drive herself home. In the interim I have been out at all hours chasing down hens (for chicken soup) and the occasional steer (for oxtail) and have had little time to post comments. On Boadicea’s and Ferret’s advice I have avoided The Chariot lest I inadvertently divulge my alter ego and introduce her to you lot.
🙂

Mild innocuous girly version of Wolf Flu?
What you mean is she didn’t complain as much as the wimpy boys do when they get it? 🙂
My sympathies to NSW – I’m still recovering from a bout of a similar ‘innocuous’ condition. Bearsy has tried to ‘take care of me’ – but I’m a lousy patient and it’s far safer to stay away from me when I don’t feel well.
Hmph!
Not complain?
TLC now withdrawn. 😦
And you nursed her back to health, OZ. Aaaaah! I hope das Furballen curled up beside her to help as well.
Hope you’re now feeling brighter, Boadicea, and ready to nurse Bearsy tenderly if he goes down with ursine flu.
Boadicea – There is Wolf Flu, as Bearsy well understands, and there is the girly version. 🙂
Sheona – Oddly enough, the feminine half of Das Fürballen was curled up on the NSW’s lap all morning. She never comes near me though, ever, despite my best attempts. 😦

Alas, Sheona, Boadicea and nursing go together like ashtrays and bikes. If I sicken, I’m on my own – it annoys her. 😥
Quite right, OZ, and never the twain shall meet. 👿
I am very happy to hear that das Fellknäuel is in improved health and was not, in fact, given to a ball!
OK, Christopher, I give up. I know fell is ‘fur’, but you’ll have to ‘splain the knäuel bit, please. 😦
