Seventh Poetry Competition

The downside of winning a Chariot competition is the duty to set the next one and I have been hunting frantically for inspiration since Low Wattage lobbed the poisoned chalice in my direction yesterday.

Anyway, I went for a lope this morning and noticed that the spring flowers are beginning to appear.

Therefore I would like to see a composition with the title or on the subject of “Spring Fever”.Β  The choice of genre is open, but I would probably avoid Haikus and gerundives if I were you.Β  πŸ˜€

Entries close at noon on 31st March, so get cracking and good luck.

Just loping around. Extremely fond of roast boar in particular, meat in general and cooking on the barbie. Fish is good too.

  1. It is lovely to see all the spring flowers in bloom again. We seem to have more wild violets around than I’ve seen for a long time.

  2. Can we do anthems?

    Only kidding πŸ˜‰

Cheers Oz, any genre you say, that would be male or female I suppose, I’ll don my thinking cap!

  3. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Welcome! You can now write your own posts πŸ™‚

  4. Welcome Edelweiss!

A great site here with much fun, creativity and debate! Enjoy! πŸ˜€

  5. Welcome, eidelweiss! The hills are already rejoicing! But the sound of music alone simply won’t wash. We need pomes! πŸ™‚

  6. Edelweiss – Welcome and apologies – I’ve been out all day today. Just publish your poem on The Chariot blog as a new post and then leave a link to it here please, just as Janus did earlier today.

  7. Cherry blossom, cherry blossom…
Long to bud, short to live.
    Cherry blossom, cherry blossom…
From south to north you bloom,
    Cherry blossom, cherry blossom…
    Your transience is your beauty,
    Your beauty is your transience…
    Cherry blossom, cherry blossom…
All through the winter we wait for you to bloom,
We wait all winter for you to bloom,
    Cherry blossom, cherry blossom…
    Only to see you briefly.
