  1. Not a word – I spent two years there avoiding it like the plague! I originate from Pembrokeshire – Little England Beyond Wales, as it is known.

  2. I spent eight weeks in Brecon and the Sennybridge training area in the 70’s. Swore I would never visit Wales again. Met Mrs Toc, who is a Welsh speaker and have been living in Wales since 99. Funny old world.

  3. Dad was a Taff and my Mum was half Irish so the celt runs strong in me. Don’t visit Wales much and never been tempted to dig into the past, wardrobe doors should remain firmly shut.
My old school motto was ‘Ora et Labora,’ ‘Pray and Work.’ Quite a good school as it was approved by the Government!

  4. Exemplo Ducemus my old Corps motto.”By example, shall we lead.” Known by most as Exemplo Mickey Mouse. 🙂

  5. “Non solum ingenii, verum etiam virtutis.” – “Not only of genius, but also of virtue.”

    Sums me up perfectly. 😀

  6. zen, not sure how old you are but I wondered if you knew a mate of mine Elwyn Thomas, aka El Beili, at school? Came from Llansawel.
Whereabouts in Pembs if I may ask?

  7. ‘Pro Rege, Lege et Grege.’

For the Monarch, the Law and the People.

Worked for me in my time at Perth Academy and still not a lot wrong with it now, in my opinion.
