Quite a change for you, Christopher.
I hope you succeed, but what made you choose Europe, and the Netherlands in particular?
I will apply as soon as application for autumn 2012 start to be accepted. This will allow me to obtain letters of recommendation from professors and to wrap things up here.
That I have, at best, a certain tepid acceptance of living in the USA and am at best ambivalent in my views of the country as a whole is likely well known. Though I would quite like to live in Canada or Australia, the realisation that the immigration process would be tricky and time-consuming puts me off for now. The Netherlands has a high quality of life with excellent universities. As they base tuition on the nationality of the student rather than domicile, I would be allowed to pay the European Economic Area fees rather than those for non-EEA students, a tremendous discount.
