I had an hour to spare and took a few photos.
Can you tell what it is yet?

Mystery 1 Knitted wool?
Mystery 4 is Algae – possibly coraline, with some Elkhorn in the background?
Correction on #4 : Platismatia glauca? with Common Yolk lichen to the right of it? I have it growing on rocks by the pond!
CWJ you are very specific about no 4 (and I don’t know the exact answer there – it was growing on the trunk of a prunus and I thought it was a lichen)- but not specific enough about no 1…
It is a lichen,(my first guess of algae was plain wrong!) and they do grow on trees – the grey one is all over my old apple and victoria plum trees – sign of very clear air, I am told, when I raised concerns about whether it was indicative of disease.
Maybe someone else can identify it properly. They are incredibly interesting organisms, being
‘composite organisms consisting of a symbiotic association of a fungus (the mycobiont) with a photosynthetic partner (the photobiont or phycobiont), usually either a green alga (commonly Trebouxia) or cyanobacterium (commonly Nostoc)’ (Thank you Wiki)
Do you need more clues?
Mystery 1 – a barrister’s wig?
Mystery 3 – wallpaper from the 70s?
Nope and nope, cuprum426
Does mystery 2 have a sporting theme perchance?
I don’t think so. Think tea and advertising
I thought 3 was possibly wallpaper.
So I’ll try leather. 😦
Mystery 3 – bathroom privacy glass?
Mystery 1 – A christmas pressie – knitted jumper with knitting needle still in!
Boa… man made, with the intent of looking like leather, but hard and unyielding……
duprum, 3 no
1 – related to Christmas, these were a give away related to tea and advertising
A quick look at No3, is it that well known lady, Anna Glipter??? OR, hives on the skin??? 🙂
I’ll be back.
I’m quite a mazed… I thought I’d made these too easy!
Pseu
So my answer was sort of right! Fake leather?
No you didn’t make these too easy! It is easy when you know the answers! 🙂
3. Boa, not really, though I think that may have been the inspiration for the texture…. I took it inside my car.
More clues or answers… or just forget it?!
Another clue
Well, you’ve really got us going with this Pseu, put us out of our misery, before we all have a sleepless night 🙂
Well if that Youtube hasn’t helped, Val look at my page…
2.A Sainsbury hessian shopping bag
3.The plastic fascia board on my car
4.Lichen
It’s been troubling me and my colleagues all night! Between the three of us we had no idea – we even sought passing help to no avail!
We were getting the car facia and I am appauled to admit one of my collegues did suggest a shopping bag but I poo-poo’d the idea!
As for No.1 – what’s the monkey’s name? Not Jonny Vegas, the other one!
Good post – more please!
🙂
Oh bugger, I checked your page before you posted the answers. That was very clever, well done, bloody good pics too. Yippee, we can sleep easy now 🙂
Just looked at your site – brilliant dash board display! Is it a skoda? Now my colleague says “oh, I’ve got one of those”
I told him to go away politely!
Apologies – appalled – grr!
The monkey’s name, I believe is ‘monkey’ – a free one was in my pack of tea before Christmas and has been on my car’s dashboard since!
You want more?
(This post hardly had any comments, so I presumed it hadn’t tickled anyone else’s fancy)
Well I enjoyed it so yes please!
OK I’ll see what I can do
No wonder I had problems – never knew about the monkey gift and have never seen a Sainsbury’s hessian shopping bag!
What are you talking about – not many comments – Keep ’em coming, Pseu! 🙂
Yes, sorry, Boa I realised that it was a biased quiz location wise, but a Hessian bag would have ticked the box… I didn’t need the ‘Sainsbury’ bit! (The Monkey thing tho’ is UK only. Sorry.)
I’ll have a think about other things to photograph and post again in a day or two.
No apologies needed, Pseu – we all have to work with what we know and what we’ve got handy.
I realise my “Who Am I” quizzes tend to be UK (England!) biased – although I try to include a few ‘furriners’ here and there!
