Course you’re not, Araminta. You just wish I’d shut up about the warm temperatures and the balmy breezes, the blue sky ..
Well, yes, but it’s allowed, considering but don’t push it. 😉
I think it’s amazing that the Brisbane Markets re-opened yesterday, albeit with limited stocks, and many other businesses re-opened as well.
Good, it’s great things are starting to return to normal, but I guess it will take a while.
Bearsy – Our apartment was less than 100m from the Brisbane river albeit on the 9th floor, so our posessions, apart from the car presumably, would have been safe. Seriously, any news of the Storey Bridge Hotel and Tuppy’s Bar? I hear Eagle Wharf is still currently in the firing line.
OZ
OZ – We haven’t ventured into the city. They’re not welcoming sightseers just yet.
Good to see blue skies, Bearsy.
Btw, my friend lost her dog before she could get to the vet. I don’t know whether she made it to Brisbane to see her dying father. Last time I talked to her she was was about to try and make the trip. I’m going to phone her tomorrow.
That’s a shame about her dog, Bilby. I hope she got to see her Dad in time.
I hope so too, Bearsy.
Night night.
The Australian government is now thinking of introducing a levy on all Australians to help pay for the reconstruction work. I don’t have a problem with that but …
Why don’t we just up the price of coal and Iron Ore by another 40% and make the Indians and the Chinese pay for it? 😦
We will, I’m sure. Give us time. 😉
First levy on all the Insurance Companies who refuse to meet claims…
Yes, Boadicea, that is one thing we shall have to keep an eye on. On a sad note, my drug dealing nephew in Tara, Qld. survived the floods but there is always hope for the next bushfire season 😦
Ooooooooooh lovely Bearsy, we’ll have a sky like that, and the warm breezes, soon, when I say soon……… 🙂
Don’t get too envious, Val! Late this afternoon…
The sky darkened, there was a rumbling of thunder and the skies opened.
🙂
Bearsy and Boadicea , Ipswich has just been hit again by wild weather, over 10,000 home blacked out, any news your way? 😦
Other than pictures of trees through roofs, no.
Yeah, that’s all I got as well, maybe the news exaggerated a bit out of concern and to keep people away from the area
I’m pleased for you, but I’m sitting here and the gutters are overflowing and my garden is looking like crap, to put it mildly.
I’m not complaining you understand but I am deafened by the noise of water falling outside my window. It’s not a major problem, just irritating.
Yeah, tell Queensland about it.
I’m not complaining. 🙂
Now that’s how I remember a Brisbane summer sky. It’s all been a bit surreal to watch from the outside, albeit terrible for those affected.

Kangaroo Point was pretty badly affected, I believe, OZ. It’s going to take the City a long time to recover.
