Test for Boadicea

No, it wasn’t what you thought. I will delete this post once any responses have been digested. Val was right, I did crop the original image, which I reproduce here

Thanks to all who helped to make my contribution readable.

Just loping around. Extremely fond of roast boar in particular, meat in general and cooking on the barbie. Fish is good too.

  1. Right OZ!

I have no idea how you are putting these pictures in – but the first thing to get straight is that you don’t need multiple copies of an image in the Library. They are redundant and simply clutter the place up – I’ve removed about three copies of this photo already. The one you have here is enormous and obviously hasn’t been reduced.

Bearsy has put in clear instructions as to how to do that – please read them carefully.

  2. Edit this comment and you will see what to write.

The only bit that will be different for you will be the bit between .com/ and width.

  3. No need to sob! It really isn’t rocket science!

Don’t panic about the size of the files for a moment. I’ll remove all the pictures for this post after we’ve finished with it.

    One step at a time!

  4. I think I’ve narrowed the width of your image, but the height (which was my original problem) remains un-get-attable.

    Still sobbing!

  5. The thing is that once you’ve got it – you’ll wonder why you had any problems in the first place. Took Bearsy telling me at least five times before I got it right!

  6. You don’t need to bother about the height. All programs will automatically reduce the height to the right figure once you’ve put the width in.

  7. Yebbut, you have the unique advantage of being married to Bearsy. The rest of us lesser mortals have to take our chances.

    Whimper!

  8. Ah! A question OZ.

Are you trying to reduce the size of your photos here or with separate program?

You can ‘squeeze’ your big photo into a smaller frame here – but you can’t reduce the actual size of the picture without using another program.

  9. Find a picture – any old thing will do – put into the Library and copy its URL then type in what I wrote on #3 with your URL instead of mine.

  10. No OZ!

You didn’t do what I said… but Hurray – we only have one copy of the picture in the Library 🙂

Look at my comment #3 by clicking on “edit” in the comment box. Write down exactly what I’ve written.

Then look at your comment and you will see that they are not even vaguely similar.

Type into a new comment box what I wrote – replacing my file name for yours.

  11. And stop uploading enormous images. The latest is 2560 × 1920. Reduce the size before you upload, like you’ve been told, over and over again. Read the instructions. Read the instructions. Read the instructions. read the instructions. …

  12. You see? I’ve incurred the wrath of Bearsy again. Sob!

OK, I’ll read the bloody instructions, if you really insist, but only in the morning – it’s far too late tonight. Ask any England cricketer. 😀

  13. Boadicea has told you, explicitly, how to do it, but you have ignored her friendly patient advice. You persist in not doing what she tells you, but doing it your way, wrongly.

Stop copying and pasting from the post editor, and do it the way Boa told you – which is also the way it’s spelt out in my note.

The reason that you’ve incurred my (giggling insanely and rolling on the floor of my study) ‘wrath’, is because you just won’t listen. Do what you’re told!!!!! It’s far easier than what you’re obstinately doing.

    😀 😎 👿

  14. I’m a bloke, FFS! When did blokes ever listen to instructions, or read a map, or ask for directions? 🙂

Promise I’ll have a look in the morning.

    Nighty night.

  15. Cropping out the tree/ greenery in the foreground was the biggest tragedy OZ, that is what draws the viewers eye to the beauty beyond.
