“Goodness me!” I said, I then called daughter number one over to have a look “Oh wow!” she exclaimed.
I’ve often said on here that my children have never seen snow, they haven’t seen these either, it simply never gets that cold!
Btw, make sure nobody/no animal is underneath when the thaw starts. Icicle injuries are common here.

They are all melting here: this morning the temperature is certainly above freezing…
saves you having to close the curtains. They are great.

These are impressive! I understand the Council in Edinburgh were being employed to knock down some under the bridges which had reached 3 – 4 metres in length – enough weight to pierce the roof of a car…talk about a bolt from the blue!
Nearly all gone now….I keep hearing great big crumping sounds….

It was the Fire Brigade and they took down a 5 metre one in Kirk Street.
In the report I read, a Council spokesperson said that it was the responsibility of every owner to keep their premises safe but that ‘people should not hang out of windows.’
This is an absolute disgrace and yet another example of Health and Safety interfering with our proud Embra traditions.
How are we supposed to demonstrate the ancient art of ‘gardy loo’ to the expectant tourists clustered below if we can’t hang out of our windows to empty our chamber pots?
Even our icicles have got icicles. š¦
