Thank you, and all the admins for setting up this site and the maintenance thereof and I appreciate the hard work involved.
In the words of that famous blogger whose name escapes me for the moment, Pease Pudding be upon the both of you.
Cheers, have a good one.

Merry Christmas, Boa and Bear! I hope the sun shines for you. 🙂
It’s pretty dire here Bilby. The Brisbane river broke its banks yesterday and it seems likely that more will do the same over the next few days. Considerable areas are flooded, and people are being asked to make sure that their journeys are necessary.
Thank you for your seasonal greetings, Boadicea. I wish you and Bearsy a very happy Christmas, and hope you don’t get your feet wet!
You may remember I put up a short post on truffles a while ago. Today I read that a young farmer, the president of his local Young Farmers branch in the Drome, shot a truffle thief he found in his patch of woodland. He claimed that while patrolling he found this guy armed with what looked like a gun and opened fire, with fatal results. The deceased had a criminal record and was armed with an implement for digging up truffles. All the locals have been trying to help the farmer, by hiding his gun and holding a demonstration outside the court in Valence. These knobbly little things do arouse strong passions.
Weird weather, Boa; all those years I spent in Qld praying for rain! My friends on the Gold Coast Hinterland have been complaining about the rain and frequent storms. Hope it stops soon!
Merry Christmas Boa and Bearsy – and thanks for all your work here and the excellent quizzes!
Merry Christmas to you both.
I amazed by the amount of rain you have been having there. I hope that all the reservoirs are filling up. A friend of mine is involved in irrigation equipment up in Toowoomba. He told me, when he was here last month, that the reservoirs there were virtually empty.
All the very best to The Mangagement! Sorry to read the elements are as intractable down under as they are here. No chance it will rain at the MCG, I suppose?
The Chariot has been a huge success in 2010 – so please keep up the good work!

I am astonished that your friend said last month that the reservoirs were virtually empty – I don’t know about the Toowoomba area, but it isn’t that far from Brisbane and the dams here have been virtually full for over a year, and they’ve even been letting water out of them. And that’s before this present deluge!
There is indeed substance in your Brisbane Times story. I knew two women who had their children taken away in similar circumstances. One was relatively young – so I know that it was going on until the 1980s.

It seems probable that it will rain in Sydney!
A happy Christmas to all! Hopefully it will dry out soon in Brisbane.
Merry Christmas B&B,
Sorry to hear about your current climate woes, I hope it does not get in Bearsys way when he is sparking up the barbie tomorrow.
Thanks to you both for your excellent work on the Chariot, it is very much apreciated by this small furry mammal. 🙂
I visited him in 2003. We went on a bit of a tour of the area, including a visit to a place where they had a rodeo. It was quite fun.
Thanks for letting me in.
Merry Christmas Boa and Bearsy.
Happy Christmas to you Boa and Bearsy, thanks for your hard work on the site. Have a lovely time.
Me again. I’m sure the management won’t mind. They might and they might chip ye oot
I probably won’t be online for a few days so I’d like to use this post to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Have fun.
Boa and Bearsy, wishing you a very Happy Christmas. May the wheels or your chariot make it for another circuit next year.
..as long as they’re well oiled, eh? (The wheels, of course!)
A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you both, many thanks for all the hard work you put in to make this site work as well as it does.
OMG
Thanks for all your efforts in making this site what it is…
Health and happiness to you both, and thanks for letting me in.
🙂
Lovely rendition of that carol.
Thank you for the site and the work you both do. Compliments of the season!
A very Merry Christmas a best wishes for a Prosperous New Year to both the management and the patrons hereof. I’ve been largely absent for the last few weeks while preoccupied with very local events, but will try harder in the new year.
Merry Christmas to you and Bearsy, Boadicea.
I love the card and the carol.

On another subject, I was stuck by this article in the Brisbane Times. Is there any substance behind it? It sounds extraordinary.

Anyway – here’s the link for dam levels:

Perhaps he was talking about what it had been like earlier. However, I did find this page which indicates that some are still relatively empty, but getting fuller.
