Well, we haven’t picked up the turkey, presents are stuck in the post and it looks unlikely that anyone will make it!
Blooming snow!

So true, Arrers! Santa’s deliveries to the UK, prompted by me, are somewhere out there – despite his special sleigh-treads designed for the all the wrong kinds of snow. Comfort yourself with another sherry and mince-pie by the log fire.
Perhaps I’m being a bit pessimistic here, Janus, but the forecast does not inspire hope.
One 4WD has passed the house in the last few hours but otherwise nothing!
Great programme, not made like that any more.
😦 And they’ve run out of grit here too.
It’s a classic rick!
I don’t think they’ll even bother gritting our road, Janus. We’re off, on foot, to see if they have gritted the hill yet. I could probably slide the car down the hill, but the chances of getting back are zero.
Drop the tyre pressure a little and reverse up.
Blimey, Bravo, this sounds like a good idea but it’s quite a long hill.
Great clip Ara, a classic of the good old days. Buying presents locally has paid off this year for me, thank goodness. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you Ara. Keep warm.
Many thanks, Val!
Most of my Christmas presents arrived before the snow so they are only a few stuck somewhere. We do have plenty of food; just not the main ingredients for Christmas Day!
The heating is on so it’s quite cosy. The wine arrived a couple of days ago, so I think we’ll survive. 🙂
With heating and wine – what else do you need? 🙂
Hee hee, Boadicea.
The rest of the family on Christmas Day would be a bit of a bonus, if they can make it!
have you got much snow?
I was speaking to my sister two days ago in North Devon who was expecting her two sons to get down for Christmas from Bedfordshire and Southampton. I thought she was being a little optimistic about them getting there. Are the trains running? It seems very patchy over the country.
Where were your guests hoping to come from?
We only have about 6-8 inches at the moment, but it’s enough to make it difficult to get here.
The forecast is not looking good; low temperatures and more snow.
They are coming from Dorset, the Caribbean, and Devon. I don’t know about the trains but I don’t think there are many running at the moment.
The way it’s looking here, we may have to take a boat to get to my daughters on Christmas Day. We’ve already dug out the winter clothes and yesterday I was tempted to put on the heating…
Global Warming… Bunkum 🙂
Boadicea, how very strange the weather is at the moment.
Here was I imagining all was hot and sunny down under, but yes, I had heard you were having an unusual amount of rain.
Christmas will happen whther we are ready for it or not. Keep smiling.
I will Nym, thank you. I’m keeping a close watch on the weather; not that they necessarily always get it right.
Sky news this morning said somewhere in Aus there has been a fall of snow, I didn’t catch where though.
Have you noticed how the Global warming zealots are keeping a very low profile just now.
Val, I think global warming is a GOOD THING – don’t you?
I Bloody do Janus, bring it on 🙂
OK then. I hereby inaugurate the COZIES – Charioteers against the Ozone-layer – a warm welcome to everyone. 🙂
Val
The children in parts of NSW and Victoria have been making snowmen and sledging – it looked pretty thick – although not as bad as the pictures from Heathrow!
My cousin told my mother that the snow is down to global warming. His reasoning is:
“The ice caps are melting so the world is getting it back in snow.”
I give up!
Love it Boa 🙂
