  1. May I also add that, despite having lived three years on Kangaroo Point, just a few minutes across the Story Bridge from Brisbanes’s CBD, I hope we can give the Aussies a proper hoofing at the Gabba.

  2. Bearsy :

As I’ve twice said to Mr Mackie, OZ, I fully expect us to lose the series 0-5.
    But I hope I’m wrong. :???:

I want England to win, but I have learned never to underestimate Australian tenacity. I think you will be proud of your team’s performance, whatever the outcome.

  3. Mr. Bearsy, sir. M’learned friend Mackie is Jockanese and therefore, by default, knows nothing of cricket, nor of rugby for that matter.

Much as I would celebrate a five-nil whitewash against Her Majesty’s deportees, I fear it may be a lot closer than that.

    🙂 on both the above.

    :-) on both the above.

OZ, you cut me to the quick. I think that you will find that I am an acknowledged Jockanese expert on all cricket-related matters.

It is not for nothing that I am often referred to as ‘the Tartan Cardus’ – google him if he’s before your time.

Good to see you seem to have fully recovered from your wolf flu and smilry think right back at you.

  5. Boadicea, sweetie, since you changed the header I can’t get a link back to The Chariot’s home page. Could you please ask that bloke with the hairy ‘arris wot you married to have a look.

Ta ever so and a smiley.

  6. Hi Ara

7th January 2011 if the Ashes series goes all the way and 7th February 2011 for the one Day series.

So, we’ll see you after then presumably?

Strauss gone for 0. Oh Dear, oh dear, oh dear.

  7. Mr. Mackie – Looking back, I was quite complimentary on your thread back in May. I remain a devotee of your writing and your bloody pedantry. 🙂

  8. ‘Xcuse me, Mr. Mackie. I still have an issue with aforementioned Araminta about the date of return to Henley of one Ethel.

    OZ

  9. OZ – you may have to wait a bit (not until the 7th January!!) It shouldn’t make any difference really…

Araminta – the banner is a concession for a few days, only … 🙂 We’ll have to find other things to write about!

  10. Hmm! First session to England. Might have been different if new boy Doherty hadn’t dropped a simple catch. 😦
    Pietersen’s on a roll, sigh! 😦

  11. How long does ‘it’ go on for?
Why can’t they burn someone at the stake for some new ashes and provide some levity?

  12. Of course, cricket is a marathon (suits JM), not a sprint. First day, first test. The fat lady won’t be singing for some time. 😮

  13. Boadicea’s Beaut Blog.

Sorry, is this a beautiful blog which blongs to Boadicea, or a blog about how Boadicea is beautiful?

Either way, I am happy to go along with it. 🙂

  14. It’s just a bit of fun for those of us in our second childhood who are cricket tragics. Normal service will be resumed as soon as Boadicea –
