I got my first 6 mince pies
Bought them at the Spar on Main

I always think of WW when I buy mince pies and the almighty row that erupted all those months ago.

I like mince pies. Always put a drop of decent whisky in mine 😀
That’s big Elsa! I knew her!

I wonder why WW isn’t a member here?
Indeed, Toc, she would be most welcome.
I hate commercial mincemeat, runny, over sweet and under boozed so for the last 40 years have made my own.
None of your bloody vegetarian suet either, the base carrier of the recipe is minced apples, of which I always have a plethora somehow.
But this year I has a great oversupply of green tomatoes, trolled the net and found a recipe using them as the base instead, other ingredients vaguely the same, so tried it!
Absolutely cracking! free! and got rid of 12 lbs of green tomatoes! Whooppee!!!
I shall make mince pies for all occasions and of course not tell any of them what they are eating, they will never work it out as I use a very swanky sweet French pastry recipe, a right quicky in the food processor, which never fails to impress.
Mince pies are a delicious mystery to the Yanks.
If you think I’m bad you should see what the Swiss restaurateurs get up to!
Ah ha, I remember the WW mince pie incident, Soutie. Very odd.
