Attention Lawyers!

let’s sue 10:10, The Guardian, Sony, Kyocera and O2:

Extremely offensive film clip.

Take a look at the film clip on the Guardian site. If you feel as strongly as I do about this you can make a complaint here:

UK Hate Crime Law:

  1. Bearsy, you’re right and it is offensive. I’ve taken the clip down and left a link. I have made a complaint to the Press Complaints Commission and I urge others to do likewise.

And yet you felt it was OK to post it. That seems a bit odd. I agree it is not very funny, even if it was supposed to be, but I hardly see that it warrants a complaint to the PCC. The great thing about it is that this campaign by 10:10 has spectacularly backfired and shown the people who run it to be a bunch of loonies.

  3. The apology is on this link:

    Sorry.

Today we put up a mini-movie about 10:10 and climate change called ‘No Pressure’.

With climate change becoming increasingly threatening, and decreasingly talked about in the media, we wanted to find a way to bring this critical issue back into the headlines whilst making people laugh. We were therefore delighted when Britain’s leading comedy writer, Richard Curtis – writer of Blackadder, Four Weddings, Notting Hill and many others – agreed to write a short film for the 10:10 campaign. Many people found the resulting film extremely funny, but unfortunately some didn’t and we sincerely apologise to anybody we have offended.

As a result of these concerns we’ve taken it off our website. We won’t be making any attempt to censor or remove other versions currently in circulation on the internet.

We’d like to thank the 50+ film professionals and 40+ actors and extras and who gave their time and equipment to the film for free. We greatly value your contributions and the tremendous enthusiasm and professionalism you brought to the project.

At 10:10 we’re all about trying new and creative ways of getting people to take action on climate change. Unfortunately in this instance we missed the mark. Oh well, we live and learn.

    Onwards and upwards,

Franny, Lizzie, Eugenie and the whole 10:10 team

  4. I wanted people to see it. Replace the people wh were blown up with black people, Jews, Muslims…

‘We missed the mark… Oh well,…’ Pretty flippant apology for something what has offended a lot of people, wouldn’t you say?

  5. PS. What really disgusted me about the clip is that it is aimed at young people. It is teaching them to discriminate on grounds of not being a part of a group. As if young children needed to be taught to be cruel…

  6. Puerile rubbish.
Can’t actually imagine why they bothered to make it.
I don’t actually think any human worth their salt is going to be influenced by such.
Can you imagine the furore had they been blowing up mosques?………
