Yep.
Tomorrow 5th September, Freddie Mercury would have been 64. He’s been dead 19 years already, can you believe it? They are showing the tribute to him on the Arts channel, seen it before of course, but worthy of another viewing, as always. Goodnight Mr Zen, sleep well.
Zen, your quotation is priceless! It would make a fitting topic for a sermon, methinks.
His was pretty murky, and as for the Missus – well!
Out of the mouths of babes:-
There are two main religions in Ireland. Catholics and Prostitutes.
Oh Toc 🙂
Dear Marge – I am thinking about embracing the Church of Rome, but am worried in case this makes me a catholitic converter. Please advise.

I have tickets to hear Stephen Hawkins speak at a book festival next month. He has a thing or two to say about religion.
“The quantum theory of gravity has opened up a new possibility, in which there would be no boundary to space-time and so there would be no need to specify the behavior at the boundary. There would be no singularities at which the laws of science broke down and no edge of space-time at which one would have to appeal to God or some new law to set the boundary conditions for space-time. One could say: ‘The boundary condition of the universe is that it has no boundary.’ The universe would be completely self-contained and not affected by anything outside itself. It would neither be created nor destroyed. It would just BE. [Stephen Hawking, A Brief History of Time (New York: Bantam, 1988), p. 136.]”
(NOT SO SUCCINCT AS YOUR THOUGH)
Today walking down Cornmarket in Oxford I had to dodge the Christians -leaflet-ers and the gospel singers – which I find rather invasive.
