Hello Boa.
It will be a fun day here today, the girls all dress up in bright colours, flowers will be in the shops, bars, restaurants and a bit of a party atmosphere will prevail.
It also heralds the start of our rainy season, we are still living under water restrictions down here. Our experts tell me that not much rain is expected ’till next year though (the El Nino etc.)

As you slip into Spring we slip into an Indian Summer.
It was an absolutely perfect Autumn day yesterday here, with a soft mist in the morning, revealing sooo many cobwebs in hedgerows. The mist was burned off by 9:30 am revealing a soft sunlit day. My car thermometer recorded 21c by mid-day and the long shadowed evening was perfectly still which would have been perfect for blackberry picking, had I the time!
First day of autumn here, so it seems. Temperatures have plummeted from a balmy 39º to a chilly 21º. At dawn there was the lovely smell of damp earth and wild thyme and the hills were wreathed in mist.

The farmers are still harvesting the cereals here in the fields next to us – marvellous, rich smell. As usual they continue into the night but thankfully not too close by….
