Help requested!

Can anyone tell me why it is that I am unable to access the dialogue box on the Daily Telegraph comment section? I have a MyT account which allows me to comment and create blogs there, but on the main section, I am simply left with the notice that I need to be logged in to comment. It persists even after I have logged in. If I try to log in again, I am taken to my profile page.

Because I thought that there might be a conflict with this WordPress site and the Telegraph WordPress site, I created a new identity and tried to log on that way. Same problem.

I have, very occasionally, been able to comment, but 99% of the time I am not given access to the dialogue box. Does anybody have any ideas how to resolve this? Many thanks.

  1. Hi Sipu.

Firstly try logging out at the top right hand side of the page and go to MyT open up any post and log out again at the top of the comments box if you can see it. You may need to do this a couple of times.

Then log back in again at the top right hand side of the page on MyT.

If this doesn’t work, try a different browser.

Otherwise you could try emptying your cache and then delete the Telegraph cookie. Close your browser, try rebooting your PC and then try again. You don’t need to delete all your cookies; just those relevant to the Telegraph site.

If all the above fail, then email kate.day@telegraph.co.uk and explain the problem.

  2. Howzit Sipu, Welcome back, I had similar problems when MyT switched to WordPress.

I mailed Kate and within a day or two she had me fixed.

  3. Thanks Araminta and Soutie. I tried using Mozzila and it works ok. Generally I use Google Chrome and that refuses to cooperate. It may have something to do with my cache. In any event I have a work around, so thats ok.
