I looked at your last post and tried to find the video that your posted. I got a message saying that it could not be found.
I’m not sure what you are doing, especially as you seem to have mastered the ability to post videos way before I did!
Was this the video you were trying?

I don’t know when You posted this Zen, but I haven’t had mail notification that a new post has been put here. I see there is a new post ‘Sweetpeas’ I haven’t had mail notification of that either. I managed to post a comment on my post ‘If’ earlier, but cannot again now.

That’s weird, Val. I’m not having any problems.
I can see that WordPress have made a few ‘alterations’ – some of which, (ie the **** Like Button!), I do NOT like. Bt, so far, they haven’t affected my ability to access the site at all.
I’m b——d if I can make it work.
I can’t either Zen, it’s frustrating. I cannot comment on my own posts at all. I’m thinking of removing myself altogether and signing up again. But will I have to change my name etc? I don’t know. I’ve checked my settings here and all seems in order. No problem with my Valzone site on WordPress, that seems to be working okay. Perhaps when you read this Boa you could advise.

I will mention one thing though, when typing there appears to be between a 5 and 8 second delay for the words to appear, never had that before, could that be significant I wonder? I know nuttin

i.e. clicking on the insert video button and writing the square bracket youtube=URL end square bracket ?
Val it does sound as if the problem is at your end. Have you tried re-booting your machine?

Strange, that has never happened before. I also tried to do in the post a new blog format didn’t work their either.
I’ve been trying to put videos into my own blog – and nothing.
I’ve searched the support pages, but can’t find anything that seems to be exactly the same problem… I’ll keep looking!

I’m by no means an expert but I can post them here and on my own test WordPress site.
Boa, I cannot recall the amount of times I rebooted, to no avail. Everywhere else works perfectly, it’s just Bearsy that seems to be the problem. I never have been very clever at posting video clips, so I don’t. I see Zen has tried to post this morning with no success, I wonder why, he is the super king at posting videos. Perhaps there have been some changes to settings via wordpress within. Ah well.
I fear Val is right. Abortive effort first thing this morn.
I’ve just tried in my own blog and it worked – see if it works here – forgive the tune it’s the first that came to mind!
If it does then check out the code to see if it looks like yours.
Val: I have no idea why you should have a problem when no one else has. What browser are you using? Not that it should make the slightest bit of difference – but I’m told it might! Have you done a ‘cold’ reboot or just a ‘restart’?

Not working for me either.
Val – switching the machine completely off and leaving it for a few seconds rather than just asking it to restart – please do not ask me what the difference is, ‘cos I haven’t a clue – I just know that sometimes that seems to remove all sorts of rubbish and lets the machine start from fresh. 🙂
I do ’em simply by copying and pasting the embed code and I’ll look a proper charlie if this hasn’t worked.

I doubt if my link above would help with the posting of video clips, Toc. It’s the code that seems to be causing a problem.
Val and Zen seem to be having problems with this site generally, and it may be a browser issue.
I’ve always just copied the url and WordPress adds the correct code automatically.
If that doesn’t work Val, you may need to delete the WordPress cookie. I think it gives you instructions in the same article.
PS:
You don’t have to delete ALL your cookies. You should be able to find the WordPress one and just delete that one.

I’ve now edited all the ‘blank’ videos so that they now work.
The problem (according to Bearsy) is that the code on these ‘blank’ videos contained two question marks.
Somehow, when some people are copying the URL additional code is getting added to the end of the link. The code after the first question mark is necessary – but all the code after (and including) the second question mark is liable to send the system haywire so that it does nothing.
When I copy Tocino’s video I get:
For some reason when you copied it, Toc, you got:
Oz’s link also had two question marks.
Take out the second question mark and all that follows and it works.
I’m going to delve in the archives to have a look at earlier videos.
I see that both links work – but wordpress obviously doesn’t like the second style. This may be a ‘new thing’ – if so it’s B****Y annoying!

I’m not so sure Araminta. I have a feeling that it maybe Youtube that’s changed its format. I checked out the earlier videos here and all the code that follows the second question mark formerly followed an ampersand.
It is possible, Boadicea, I did think about that, but a URL is a URL, I would have thought, although the embedding and share stuff could well have changed. I really don’t know, because I haven’t had a problem, but yes, something has changed, and it could well be UTube.
