  1. Zen, if you haven’t read it, I would recommend Antony Beevor’s D-Day (The Battle for Normandy.) There is a lot there about Patton and much more as well.

  2. Good morning
I wonder there was a way to know ‘who is who’ in context with the ‘old place’. Anyway, looking at Gen. Patton’s photograph, I have to say this looks like the cover of his book that I remember as a child. I found it fascinating among my father’s collection, other titles being ‘Seven Pillars of wisdom’ and the like. Never read it though.

  3. Good Morning Shermeen,

It is wonderful to see you here again.

We make no secrets about who we were/are on MyT. Except maybe Tocino but I reckon even his bubble has burst by now. 🙂

If you want to know who’s who I would gladly provide a list.

  4. Good morning Ferret and thank you. I would really appreciate an unravelling of some names, but of course only if every one agrees.

  5. Shermeen,

I will be happy to oblige, I think I know them all except Mary Contrary and I suspect that ID is not female at all but a member of Souties ‘fan’ club.

If no-one posts any objections (Tocino, FEEG, Zen, Val, fieldshooter, Cornish Kate, Kevmart). I will give it a few hours and spill the beans.

  6. Ferret :

Hee hee, indeed, still they say ‘it takes all sorts’ 😉

  7. Ferret :

    Pseu,

I have to give them a chance to opt out at least.

Later today at the earliest. :)

I thought that this was being done by email?

  8. I just don’t see the point in outing members. As for myself, I was outed on MyT by that little Irish turd for no other reason than spite. Do whatever you feel you should.

  9. Ferret, when you detail yours truly, would you make me sound intelligent, beautiful and worthy of comment please??…………..Oops, I forgot, Shermeen knows me, scrub that. 🙂 🙂

  10. Toc,

I thought that anyone who read your stuff hereon would know immediately who you were over there.

You obviously have an issue with it, I can’t understand why because you are still the exact same bon oeuf you were under the original. I must respect your wishes however and not let on your previous ID.

I thought it a reasonable request from Shermeen so that she could get a feel for people she used to know.

  11. Val,

You sweetheart. You were one of the main reasons I joined ZT.

Back in the day Valzone used to be…. Eminence Grise. A most excellent MyT ledge and all round hotty of the highest decree. In the words of D-Ream, “Things, have only got better!” IMHO. 🙂

  12. Oh dear, look what I started, unintentionally. Of course Ferret I know dear Val; intelligent, beautiful and worthy of comment 🙂
I think I should spend some here and read what people have written. Perhaps this will be the best way to try and recognise people behind the new names.

  13. Shermeen,

I knew you posed the question in complete innocence and guessed that one or two would not like their MyT life to bleed into this one.

Thats why I cannot divulge alt IDs without the permission of the individuals concerned.

You haven’t ‘started’ anything, this is pretty good, clean fun IMO. 🙂

  14. Now Zenrules,

The ‘open book’ and kind Official Greeter of Boas Chariot. He always has a tune for us in the morning to start the day and a phrase to contemplate of an evening before he retires.

Zen used to be TJ Sudbury on MyT, he and I would often race to complete the Telegraph crossword, he usually won. 🙂

  15. Good afternoon zenrules. Hope your family is well. How is your adventurous daughter?

  16. The ladies here are the best, the very best, all round lovely gals.

The trouble is Shermeen, all these lovely men are married, the blonde here doesn’t stands a chance does she? 🙂
I’ll do my CV later if you like, always good for a laugh.

  17. Good day, Shermeen, and welcome. Thanks for kind wishes, heartily reciprocated. All three daughters are voyagers, but I think you are remembering Kathryn on her elephant. Since then he has taken a year out and ‘done’ India, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Viet Nam. If you are still in Cambridge, she is very near to you, teaching at King’s School, Ely.

  18. Thank you zenrules. Delighted to hear about your daughter. Yes, she is very near where I am. Love quaint old Ely. Hope I can look in here regularly in the future. The best of elsewhere seem to reside on this site!

  19. Yoo hoo, Shermeen, sweetie! I am the same lobo soltéirohere as I was there. I just don’t want to post over there any more – it’s a shambles.
