My father used park under the tree on a Saturday afternoon to watch my brother playing on the Oval, and me playing behind on a minor pitch. my brother was 4 1/2 years my elder.
When were you last in Kenya? We used to live (1972) on the top flat of the bank building across the street from the New Stanley Hotel – very convenient for the “Long Bar”!
We said our tearful goodbyes in early 63. Our last two houses were an old fashioned houe on stilts next to St Andrew’s Church, and one next to the snake pit by the Coryndon Museum.
Zen you have painted a beautiful, albeit, brief picture here, leather on willow on the Oval, lovely. The photograph speaks for itself, have you any more? I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting to see more like this one.
