Right then, moving on rapidly before Sir Walter rises from his grave to haunt me in perpetuity for the alleged theft of his intellectual property from which Boa has exonerated me.
My thanks to Claire for setting the competition, to Boa for judging and to all of you who were so generous in your comments on my entry. I live in hope that CO will read it one of these days and then not be completely scathing about it. And I still hope that one day she will tell us the tale that she knows I want to read.
Anyhoo and moving on again, this CW lark has been a joy on Bearsy’s/Boa’s site, in my opinion. Thanks to those of you who encouraged the rest of us to get stuck in.
Keeping it simple this time.
1,000 words or less on an interaction of any sort between two or more well known fictional characters who were created by different authors.
Whatever format you choose to choose.
Deadline midnight GMT (01.00 am BST on the day immediately following the specified day and all and/or any other time zones pari passu) on 21st July 2010.
JM, poor old Lammas! Was he worse for the drink or just careless with the feet?
Crikey.
Lammas,
Good for milk and wool but they smell a bit. 🙂
Thats a good ‘un JM. I shall have to get my small furry thinking cap on.
God Morgen Janus.
Nice one. Smiley thing.
The reference to Lammas falling, however, was yet another example of my shameless plundering of the rich seam of Border ballads for inspiration.
Start of ‘The Battle of Otterbourne’ -‘It fell about the Lammas tide, when the muir-men win their hay…….’

I know all about Llamas
Interesting, so we have Monty Mouse and……A Another!
Only joking. Smiley thing
Thanks, Rick. That brightened up my morning, which is a prologue through what will be a rather demanding day. Now I know I can make it through!
Quick story
Zebedee was watching Looby Loo undressing BOING he went.
(okay not for real)
Well here is my entry. I won’t be around for the awards ceremony. I am heading to the UK and Italy from the 21st July to 25th August. A scary prospect.

And here’s mine, Sipu:

Into the breach, dear friends, once more (or something like that).

It’s a long time ’til the deadline JM.
All the same, here is my feeble effort for the competition. 🙂

Good evening.
Ferret has suggested to me that I set the deadline for the CW competition too far in advance.
On reflection, I think he’s right and that I was being a wee thing Jockocentric. We’re in full school holiday mode up here at the moment and I forgot that South and West Britain were still to go there.
Maybe the deadline for the next one should be the one that is a bit later. You’ll have the hols. and I will have the Edinburgh International Festivals.
So, any objections if I move the deadline to midnight GMT and equivalent timezones on Wednesday 21st July 2010? I await comments.
Is there anybody out there?
Maybe I need to do an Adam Garrie type poll?
No problem here, John.
Suggest you write a short post – in red – and stick it to the top of the front page for a few days so that everyone can see that you’ve shifted the date. 🙂
I’ve already done mine, so no problem from here (or out there).

Here’s a little incomplete scenario for you
