will take you to an item I have posted on “Your Freedom”. Your support would be welcomed. By the way, the link setup doesn’t seem to be working properly, or I haven’t sussed it out, maybe, so Please copy and paste in your web browser to reach it, until someone educates me…

CWJ travelled extensively with his family, having worked in eleven countries over thirty years. A keen photographer, holding a Private Pilot's Licence, he focuses mainly on landscape and aerial imagery. Having worked in the Middle East extensively he follows developments in that region with particular interest, and views with growing concern, the radicalisation flowing from Islamic fundamentalism, and the intolerance for opposing views, stemming from it.

Hello CWJ.
Thank you for this. I will explore further in the morning.
Links work perfectly here, it is just a matter of highlighting a word or two, pressing the link button on the toolbar and pasting the link. It is very similar to the MyT system actually.
Good to see you anyway.
Further instructions. should you need them, will be available on request.
Some kind admin person may fix it for you anyway, but probably not right now.
Hi CWJ, good to see you.
My blood runs cold when I listen to these state apparatchiks attempting to justify their ill-informed and muddle-headed attacks on our civil liberties. In all seriousness, the people that one can hear on the clip would probably be perfectly happy pushing people into the gas chambers if anybody gave them the merest possibility of any pretext of half an excuse for their actions. Jobsworths and ignorant bastards, in my opinion.
Trying the link in a comment

I’m sorry that I don’t have the time to find the link – if it is still there. Bearsy investigated this some time ago and found that the Met Police force had something on their web site about this – the gist of which was that the police had absolutely no right to stop people taking photos of whatever they liked, within obvious security limits…
Fixed your link before finding that John had done so!
Not so difficult to find:

It seems to me that the terrorists are winning. Our freedoms are being eroded at an ever increasing rate.
Thanks to whoever fixed the link in my original mail.
I have been in touch with Craig Mackey, who as Chief Constable of Cumbria is the ACPO lead on Stop and Search issues. He tells me that in March a meeting was held with the then Policing minister, and Groups representing photographers, at which it was agreed that he would reiterate the guidelines to prevent this continuing harrassment. He appeared to acknowledge that there was some further work to be done in disseminating the message, but pointed out that only two incidents, including the Romford one, to which I alluded, have been brought to his attention since then. What will not have been brought to his attention of course, are the number of members of the public who have meekly put away their cameras without complaint, assuming that the police/security guards (they used to be called watchmen, didn’t they?)were justified in asking them to do so.
There is really not much point in railing away about it on this site, but if you do feel strongly about it, please do vote on the link I gave, or comment if you are moved enough to do so! Many thanks in advance if you take the trouble and time to do so 🙂
I’ve just voted.
Araminta – many thanks. I have no idea if they will pay any attention at all to any of the stuff put on that site, but I suppose it is a start in the right direction. In its first few days, the Government site almost collapsed from the number of people trying to access it!
Meanwhile across the Atlantic, just in case anyone thinks this is a peculiarly British form of harrassment:
