Well, I have been racking my brains for something lighter than my usual ‘orrible offerings/ideas!
So, without further ado…
Write a short fiction piece, of 1,000 words or less, on the theme of ‘A Midsummer Night’
• Stories should include some reference to music and should mention an animal.
As before, entries can be essay, memoir, fiction and poetry, rhymed or unrhymed. They can also be submitted as photo stories, with a minimum of 5 photos and a maximum of 10.The photos should have a narrative thread/story.
Stories due here by midnight on Friday, July 2nd. (Two weeks from today.)
I’m having trouble leaving comments tonight, but I will read comments and respond in a post if I can’t reply.
Sounds a good one, Claire, thanks. I have an idea from a stroll this evening.
Thank you for this Claire.
I’m thinking about it already, but I expect I’ll do my usual and scrape in just before the deadline. 🙂
Brilliant Claire,
I can’t wait to see what diverse stuff this lot come up with for this.
The original set by Jaime was two weeks, I made mine 3 because I was swanning off on me ‘ols. It’s up to you of course. 🙂
Claire, good evening. Sounds like fun.
For the avoidance of doubt, do you really mean 10 pm GMT or are you actually intending the deadline to be 10 pm BST?
I only ask because certain people (Ferret and Ara) seem incapable of grasping the difference and I wouldn’t want them to be running around yet again with wild accusations that certain other non-UK resident people (Jamie) are guilty of non-timeous submission.
Hee Hee JM,
Ooooooo ‘ark at her!
Humph, Mr Mackie. 🙂
Hello one and all and thanks for comments!
I’m really looking forward to reading your entries for this one.
Akshully Ferret and Mr Mac, I nicked all terms + conditions from Jaime’s post (hangs head in shame) and thought time period had to be same. But it would suit me better if deadline were in two weeks’ time. Any objections…anyone, at all? I don’t mind either way.I’m a serial ditherer, see, as well as a serial apologiser 🙂
Ara and Janh – glad to hear you’re getting inspired already!
Incidentally, anyone else having trubble at t’mill tonight with WordPress?
Yes, Claire, I had a spot of bother earlier, but it seems to be OK now.
Oooohhh sh*t! ‘Ere we go again.
OZ
Claire – your call.
Make it two weeks instead so far as I am concerned. Nearer the Summer Solstice after all.
I’ll be on the Isle of Lewis at the time so I’ll have loads of daylight to work with (be it BST or GMT).
I’ll have to get in touch with Isobel about this soon, by the way. I intend to visit a certain fish on her behalf to see how it’s fairing.
Ok then, I will change it to two weeks, if that’s alright.
A certain fish?! I haven’t seen Isobel for ages…shame really.
Ara: I’m still having problems., When I come to this site I get an old, cached version, and it keeps logging me out! My computer is obviously catching the blonde thing as well.
Just testing (not an actual entry)
“As the wolf howled its music on a midsummer night…..” no, too long 😦
Right. Have changed deadline to Friday July 2 at midnight! Two weeks’ notice!
IS; is good! You have the first line… 🙂
🙂
Thank you Clare. Two weeks to get my head around this. Actually less for me as I go away (without family gulp!) on 28th June and it’ll have to be in before then or not at all.
Just a thought Claire,
Could it be possible that the MyT WordPress login is conflicting with this one somehow?
Oh, I can comment here now – couldn’t before, but keep getting logged out on Vicar blog…
Ferret – I have no idea! I’ve switched it on, off, logged into MyT login, but I just can’t get to most blogs to comment! THanks for suggestion though.
Pseu: I’m sure you’ll come up with something good as usual!
Going anywhere nice? Must say the idea of a trip away minus family sounds very glamorous
I’m off on an Arvon Course.
Oooh are you, Pseu? Would you be kind enough to either blog or email me to let me know what it’s like? I’m thinking of booking one for October. Thanks!
Agh! I was jealous ofn what I imagined was a Sex in the City style retreat to a spa or a city break…
Now I’m even more jealous! You have to let us know what it’s like Pseu!
OK Claire,
Someone has to start the ball rolling and since I didn’t have to write owt for the last one, why not small furry me?
My humble submission is here:
