One of your better blogs, Adam. Interesting and riveting writing, well scripted paragraphs with just a hint of better things to come. Well done. 😦
Have you a license for all these surveys?
Indeed IS. I’m strictly surveys of one kind or another on this site.
Zenrules,
It’s just come today.
Adam – Don’t tell me you given up on blogging, you’re actually pretty good at it, you know. You should simply learn to tell us critics to get stuffed and carry on. 🙂
Yeah Adam,
What I.S. said. 🙂
Crikey
IS,
Not at all, just doing it mostly in a dictatorship these days.
Adam – I remember a certain Russian writer many years ago, one who refused to give up the way of the pen. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn was his name. He too lived in a dictatorship, perhaps you should read his story, he always said he wrote for the readers and not for the critics, he became very popular in the west 🙂
Indeed, and good friends with Lord Pearson–and a staunch critic of the NATO war on Yugoslavia.
Did you know that “The Gulag Archipelago” is included in the high school program in Russia as mandatory reading? Who knows, if you keep writing your blogs might one day become mandatory reading at MyT.
Fnr Fnr 🙂
Can I vote again? Will anyone know?
Whahey I.S.!
Finbar Saunders and his Double Entendres.
What the feck is an antipodean, roo shagging, lager swilling, shark wrestling beach bum doing reading Viz?
That particular comic started out in a schoolkids bedroom right here in my home town you know.
Ferret – I read War and Peace in one night, but it took me a week to read all 92 volumes of Plato. Good night, mate. I’m off to see the soccer. 🙂
One never knows, IS. Enjoy the match
Pseu, you can try.
top gear is one of the better things on telly. not that it is good, it isn’t but the rest of the stuff is utter garbage.
Adam, what will you do with all your new unrepresentative data? Pontificate elsewhere? Good idea.
Janus, I aim to please.
Rick,
Most telly is rather barren these days, but along with HIGNFY Top Gear is my favourite.
I am surprised to read this revelation. There is no evidence for it.
I’m not posting blogs am I? Thought that should speak for itself.
Spousal unit and his daughter will plop down to watch. I’ll just tune it out (probably plugged into YouTube, or, if it gets annoying enough, decamping upstairs with the netbook). I don’t get the fascination with cars at all. Then again, I don’t drive either.
Just wanted to say–I’ll no longer be posting here(see Janus, I do aim to please). I’ll continue to spew my drivel on my dictatorial site and perhaps on rare occasion, pop into the lunatic asylum associated with a paper I read. It’s been fun. But I suppose I’m now the David Laws of this place. Still better an outlaw than an in-law.
Adam: NO!
I like your stuff. I’m not a Top Geary sort of woman, but I’ve enjoyed your posts and the discussions with you over here.
And this is the best community site/forum – just look at the shambles that MyT has become in comparison.
It is that Claire, but I didn’t want to invade on other people’s hallowed ground. The other place is too big and too rubbish–but at the same time that means there’s no where left to fall. I do of course have my own site you’re welcome to visit any time.
I don’t think you are – invading etc etc…
Boa once suggested, after I departed in high umbridge after some silly argument or other, that I just give it a rest for a while.
I think that’s the most sensible policy. People do sometimes wind each other up (Je suis la Reine de cela), but it’s basically always nice to come back and talk/debate about civilised things on here.
I liked your post on Brahms and Wagner on your blog the other week as well.
That’s fair enough, Claire and you’re feedback is always appreciated. I just remember when another ‘un-invited guest’ did rather more harm than good to this site and as someone who respects the job Bearsy’s done here, I’d not want to follow in such ignominious footsteps.
No, heaven forbid. Please do not go Adam. I enjoy your posts, although this is not one of your best. 😉
Who was that then? Not me I hope! I’m always gettin’ into some sort of trubble. Plus ca change…
If Janus is winding you up, wind him right back up! He’s a softie really.
No that’s quite all right, I’m not in the mood to name names, but it most certainly was not you Claire. I’ll still drop in to read and comment.
Ara,
You can always find my stuff on http://agonenation.blogspot.com/
Bookmarked, Adam, but please do continue to contribute here.

Cheers Ara–we’ll see, maybe if Laws comes back.
Aw, Adam, sorry to see you go. I’m not great at visiting personal blogs, but I’ll certainly pay a visit…
btw, sorry to go off topic, but have you seen this? I bet you’d write a cracking blog on it…
