  1. Simply splendid tour John.

I’m glad you added the captions though. I did think that someone went the wrong way. Are there Canal Police and tickets?

It looks quite choppy; is this the speeding traffic or was it windy?

  2. One of the few places in the world I always wanted to go to and never got there! Tried several times but it never worked out!
    Hope you have enjoyed it.

  3. Thanks for the slideshow, JM.

Christina, I hope you manage to visit Venice some time. Stepping out of Santa Lucia station to be confronted by the canal and old buildings is just magic.

  4. That was a real fun tour – a nice accompaniment to my boiled egg and buttered bread breakfast. I liked the water level shots; made me sit bolt upright!

  5. Thanks. An excellent reminder. The gondoliers are all very well but I liked watching the everyday comings and goings on the canals – the binmen and their refuse boat used to turn up way before breakfast and hours before the gondoliers came along to prepare their boats for the day.

  6. I never made it to Venice either because of a horrible misunderstanding.

Thoroughly enjoyed the slideshow, John. Lucky you!
