Outlook.

I am an optimist, unrepentant and militant. After all, in order not to be a fool an optimist must know how sad a place the world can be. It is only the pessimist who finds this out anew every day.
Peter Ustinov

  1. A lovely man Mr Ustinov.
    Goodnight Mr Zen, sweet dreams.

I’m putting together a birthday present for my pal, I’m having a photograph put onto canvas as one gift, but the other silly gift is proving harder than I thought. She’s a dreamer, I mean she has many dreams, she dreams of all manner of things, non of which makes sense.
So, Queen Mab came to me, the bringer of dreams in folklore. Core blimey, the poems are lengthy to say the least, if you know of a short version that I can type on a card let me know Zen 😉

  2. Excellent quote from a great man, Zen.

I suppose the “to sleep, perchance to dream” speech from Hamlet is a bit grim for a birthday card, Val. “Shuffling off this mortal coil” not perhaps appropriate when you’re about to blow out a furnace of candles 😉

Still, a birthday is a celebration of another year of existence and to be celebrated without fail!!

  3. An optimist has to learn to cope with disappointment; so too does a pessimist.

Personally, I’d rather my disappointments were things that have gone wrong, than having to deal with the disappointment of having to deal with things that have gone right. 🙂

  4. Mine too, Pseu.

Nice one Boadicea! 🙂 I think pessimists have the best deal. When life is a bit shit, they can bask in the satisfaction of having their expectations fulfilled. I live with Eeyore. I know.
