It is almost three years since we were invited to the unveiling of Jaume Plensa’s sculpture “Nomade” on the Bastion Saint Jaume in the harbour of Antibes.
Strolling down to the harbour today I was delighted to find that Nomade is now a permanent resident of Antibes. He was unveiled again on 15th May by Frederic Mitterrand, the Culture Minister, and our mayor, Jean Leonetti. The whole of the Bastion Saint Jaume has now been renovated so people can see all of its glory. These fortifications were built when Antibes was actually a fortified frontier town with the Duchy of Savoy just the other side of the River Var and the English navy, among others, prowling round the Mediterranean. It is a splendid position for the sculpture, facing out to sea.
Well it has embedded itself after a fashion. Just click on the blue!
You don’t need the embed code, Sheona. Just the URL works.
If you delete all the embed code; and then select the add video and then the URL option it should should work.
Please feel free to delete this if you don’t want to know, or you have sorted out the problem.
Thanks for that, Araminta. Sounds a bit difficult for me though. I certainly won’t delete it though.
Good morning sheona, I’ve tidied it up for you, sorry I didn’t spot it last night 😉
Thanks very much, Soutie. We’ve just seen what our error was, ignoring the “video” tag. The picture certainly looks better than a load of techie text.
