  1. Brendano – brilliant!
Sorry to be such a ditz but do you have that email again? I’m going to do one for a while, as we say rownd eayr. But – and I mean this sincerely,no agenda, sans pretensions etc etc – I’d like to keep in touch with you from time to time. 🙂

  2. Brendano; hiya. Actually, I probably will, for reasons I won’t go into on here. But as you know, I do get to Ireland roughly once a year, so you never know. Keep in touch any way; watch yourself, and thanks for the email address x

  3. That link is hilarious Brendano.
“Take the behavior of the ring-neck pheasant,” Tannen said. “After mating, the male immediately abandons the hen, leaving her responsible for the total care for the chicks. For the single mother-to-be, there is no assistance, either in the form of a partner or child support. Nor is there any legal recourse. It’s despicable.”

  4. Sexism in animals.
I keep thinking of the wild Bears in Alaska (no resemblance to the Queensland variety) who will eat their offsprings to get another go.
Thank God we are humans and civilised. 🙂

  5. I liked the one about the ‘respected scientist’ who thought that volcanoes and earthquakes were the result of global warming and needed to be investigated by the IPCC.
No reference, not worth bothering to find!
