Just a few piccies

A few piccies taken in Wales a couple of weeks back.  Took me ages to arrange them due to total ineptitude on my part but,  in the immortal words of Manuel in Fawlty Towers  “I learn!”

Link here – mostly because I didn’t want to mess up Bearsy’s lovely front page.

Due a power cut any second so I’m going while going is good!  😀

  1. My son did his first degree in Swansea, metallurgy, what’s yours doing there?
There is an excellent fish restaurant there on the docks called Hansons, they guy who has it used to be at the Ritz and actually knows what he is doing!
My son used to wangle lunch there regularly when I came down from Llandovery way to visit him.
Nice memories, thanks for the pics.

  2. See, you can take the girl out of Cheltenhamshire but you can’t take Cheltenhamshire out of the girl.

Up the Robins! Getting a bit excited on this website at the moment what with all your pictures of said robins (even if they are lowland-dwelling Welsh ones) and Valzone’s pictures of tractors. What more could a member of the mighty Cheltenham Town FC Red Army ask for in life?

  3. Thanks folks. Just a freakishly good opportunity to be so close to those robins.
Glad you appreciate their special significance, John 😉

Did he Tina? A good Uni. Mine was doing marine biology (learned to dive and did boaty things) but took a year out to design a website for the maths department (PCG course for trainee teachers) and has been a web developer type ever since.

I know Hansons but I had no idea the guy used to be at the Ritz!! You know Patricks in Mumbles? We’re going there this weekend. I remember taking son down to interview for Swansea Uni. Dropped him off at the entrance and walked down on to the beach with the dog. Walked miles along the sand in wind and rain reciting The Walrus and the Carpenter and thinking “God I hope he gets an offer here. I love this place.”

  4. Seeing we lived to the North then we never went over to the Mumbles side.
Roo learnt to dive at Swansea too! They are very active on water sports and swimming, he used to play underwater hockey for them.
How old now is your son, I wonder if they would have know each other? Roo was born in 77.
