While on exercise in Germany once, I came across a walled estate with a warning sign that said,’ Achtung, Bissige Hunde, (Biting dogs.) Then carried on: ‘This estate is patrolled by watchdogs. They bite. Enter at your own risk. If approached by a dog, lay down, place hands under body and wait until help comes. If no help comes, Good Luck!’
