  1. Nothing to do with Claire liking where she lives. What I find is the casual ‘a predominantly muslim town.’ This is England we’re talkikng about here, isn’t it?

  2. Yes, indeed but we are all aware that there are cities and towns in England which have a high percentage of immigrants, or in this case Muslims. Claire happens to live in such an area.

  3. No I do not find this statement appalling in the extreme. Sounds very much like a statement of fact to me.

  4. What, the fact that is was ever mentioned in a comment or the fact that there is a town in the UK that is predominantly Muslim?

  5. Bravo

    The town centre?

    The local park?

    Have you been there?

What on earth brought this on? did it happen on MyT? Leave it there.

There is no reason on earth that the MyT shit should permeate here. Do me a favour retract and delete this.

  6. Bravo, you have been away too long, whole swathes of the North and Midlands have predominantly muslim towns. With, I might add, predominantly muslim authorities and a fair few muslim MPs.

You aren’t going to hear the screams of outrage until the shires and home counties wake up to find they have been taken over. By then, it will be too late.
The Islamification of Britain goes on apace with the willing connivance of the liberals and chatterati and the myopic complacency of the middle class.

Logic decrees that as they outbreed us by over 2 to 1 they will be in the majority in the country within 100 years anyway.

Seemingly no one is interested in stopping them, except the BNP and EDL, at least, at the moment!
Personally I await the entertainment value of watching the insouciant complacency turn into peturbation at the inexorable march of dhimmification, from a safe distance!

No doubt your retirement plans are not in the UK’s direction! Nor should they be.

  7. Soutie, I have no idea what MyT shit you’re talking about.

Isobel. Were I in Tunbridge Wells, I think the adjective I would use would be ‘disgusted,’ No?

    OMG. Either.

Araminta, since the post in question descended into the usual MyT ‘shit’ as Soutie so elequently puts it, I didn’t read any further. The casual nature of the comment is what caught my attention.

Christina, in fact, I shall probably finish my days, in due course, in the Royal Hospital. Before it is time for that, Belgrade is looking good.

  8. Why do you debate it here, though if it was a MyT matter?

  9. (Oh, I see as I’ve changed the way my name appears, as an experiment, that I have to be checked out first!)

  10. I have changed back, see if that works!

Why do you debate it here, though if it was a MyT matter?

  11. Bravo

let me remind you, here is the first line of this very blog:

“Claire, you made a coment on MyT which contained this:”

    ___________________________________________________

    Bravo

Above is my reply, however, on reflection you have perhaps originated another topic of discussion. I’m of the opinion that it is only fair to leave Claire out of this, are you suggesting that there are no ‘predominantly Muslim town(s)’?

  12. Bravo; hello. I’m beginning to wish I’d never got involved in any of this today…and yes, for what it’s worth the post in question has descended into the mire.
Christina is right; whatever the facts and figures bandied around, large swathes of the North of england are predominantly Muslim. The park where I go with my kids is full of Muslim women in full regalia; the local shopping centre full of Muslim families. That’s just my world; sorry if it offends.
I haven’t the time to sit and be put through mill any further right now, being – despite what has been said on MyT – a teacher and a busy mum. Like I said, sorry if I offend; I’m not particularly proud that a genuine debate descended into a catfight on myT…But I speak as I find.

  13. Brendano :

Perhaps Bravo raised the matter here as he can’t delete comments he dislikes on MyT.

    Not a very constructive comment.

  14. As so many bloggers here have proselytised for this site on MyT many times I can hardly see how you can not expect topics to be carried hither and thither. They have, without previous remonstration Soutie, so why the objection now?

Ref. ‘What is society?’ comment 63 onwards.

I see no request for removal subsequently.

  15. Soutie, I included Claire because it was her comment, no other reason – no MyT shit intended, and I found the comment worth discussing. I agree that the rest of the post doesn’t make any reference to Claire and therefore the comment for discussion should have been written in without using her name.

    Claire, I apologise.

Soutie, that, of course, depends on where you are talking about. As Araminta pointed out, Amicus has provided the actual statistics for Blackburn, which show that a bit less than 20 per cent of the population is muslim. It is my oft-stated view that it is not the optimum case for the character of English society, not Welsh, Scottish or Irish, note, to be subject to the changes forced upon it by the mass-importation of an immigrant population whose cultural norms are so different, indeed, inimical, to the norms of the indigenes without discussion or consent.

    Pseu, see my #13.

  16. Evening Mrs.Osbourne

The name of this little venture says it all. Definitely Not My Telegraph.

Personally, I’m of the opinion that what happens on Myt stays on MyT. One of the reasons that I’m here is to have fun and do so without the nitpicking, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for robust debate, but if we end up with a he said she said as on MyT I’ll happily delete the lot of them.

Please go to the top of the page and have another look the title.

As to the ‘why the objection now’ I’ve been around a long time, there is nobody on Myt offered ‘help’ or assistance more than me, not only that I’ve assisted the DT in sorting out bugs in the system, besides all that, all I’m looking for is a friendly, learning experience.

What have you taught me today?

  17. Bravo, the statistics are rubbish. Illegals are not counted and you can bet your sweet life that most of those homes in Bradford etc contain illegal cousins just visiting (permanently). It is not in the govt. interest to get an accurate count, it might just upset the natives!
Try sitting in the centre of Wolverhampton, or anywhere else to that matter up North, and counting white faces. The boy and I did it about three years ago as an exercise when we visited David Austin roses show garden and were at a loss for entertainment. We used to like studying our own country.
Anyone who believes anything the current govt says needs their head examining!
Try listening to my wine merchant in Brum, a renegade ex muslim, bitching and complaining constantly about how many of his wife’s relatives, fresh off the banana boats, (his words, not mine) were staying in his house and being kept by him. He got so fed up, he bought a flat and moved in there by himself, couldn’t stand the filth they generated and the lack of alcohol, this was a weekly litany for years! Biggest fascist and racist I have ever come across. Very entertaining, used to hang round talking to him for hours, nothing like info out of horses mouths.

  18. Soutie, I don’t expect anyone to learn anything here, rather thought it was a way to pass/waste time when raining and gardening is orf!

Just like to see evenhandedness. The blog I cited being a prime example.

Personally I couldn’t care less, just pointing it out. But knowing human nature, to be expected.

  19. I’ve just popped up another post stating my views more clearly.

Brendano, you just don’t learn, do you? If you want to comment on my posts, do so sensibly. You can post your usual crap anywhere else you want. Byeeeeeee.

  20. claire2 :

…..large swathes of the North of england are predominantly Muslim. …. sorry if it offends.

It certainly offends me, Claire – the fact that it is, that is, not that you said it, if you see what I mean.

  21. “Just like to see evenhandedness. The blog I cited being a prime example.”

Tina: I suggest you read the WordPress rules and those of this site. Each author is able to post whatever they please within these terms. I am assuming that Soutie’s comment was made as an author, not as a moderator, since the post in question, that is this one, is still here. Bravo has a right to post this, and we have a right to express our opinions. If he does not like them, he may delete them.

  22. Bravo: I have to say that Brendano does have a point. Either you agree with free speech or you don’t. You can of course qualify this, and you have that right but it does seem quite petty to me.

  23. Araminta. Brendano has everyright to say whatever he thinks and I will support that right above all things. Brendano, however, is fond of telling others what they should and should not say, or do. Further, he is a self-opiniated ass who expresses his ill-informed views as if self-evident truths. He never substantiates anything he says and, if shown to be in error, never admits it, but wriggles into ever more desparate contortions and circumlocutions to show that, though wrong, he is, in fact, right. Any thread that he is involved in, unless on some totally inocuous froth, descends into a mess of recrimination and self-justification.

I refer you to Bearsy’s point of yesterday.

  24. Your view, Bravo, your choice, as I said. I merely proffered an opinion. I hardly expected you to agree, but neither do I agree with your views on Brendano.

I don’t know which point of Bearsy’s to which you refer, but I doubt I would disagree, if it is to do with your right to control your own post.

  25. Bravo: Apology accepted. Although frankly, I’d rather you’d waded in over on MyT. I may have been branded a Bad Mother, a Scarlet Woman and a Possible Muslim over there – but I had more of a right of reply. Here, you gave me trial by intellectuals. And I’d much prefer you all called me names over there rather than sat around shaking your heads and scratching your beards over here.

  26. Hey, I’ve come late to this, but Claire, you have every possible right of reply here.

Write a post, say exactly what you like to whomsoever you like, secure in the knowledge that it will not be removed by anyone (unless it transgresses the WordPress ToS).

I don’t know what all this is about, but please don’t feel constrained.

  27. Hiya Bearsy, thanks.. Don’t worry. Just the usual overspill from MyT; plus me being a fragile female… But thanks for your message; my comment wasn’t aimed at you or this site in general, more the beard scratching and hinterlek-shulising that floored me earlier.

  28. Claire, I do not understand your comment. You’d rather be insulted than have the views you put forward examined in argument? Is that what you teach?

  29. Hee Hee Brendano,

Of course you are free to do so. You are also free to accept the fact that Bravo realy doesn’t like your attitude and no matter how much you continue to splutter about it, the situation is unlikely to improve.

Accept it and move on maybe?

  30. Claire,

For what it is worth, you have my complete and utter support. You made the mistake of challenging the “expert” opinion formed by those who know the truth but have never actually been anywhere near the country. Apparently all you need to do is read the newspapers and wiki some stuff to get the real truth, the word of someone who actually lives there, well that isn’t worth a jot.

    Bravo,

You don’t live here and can be forgiven for believing the infiltration story made up by the “non-resident experts”.

As I said to Levent before the weekend, we have a strong muslim community here in Newcastle, I love wandering through it and taking in the vibrant colours and smells. Yes there is crime, but I would suggest less than the slum estates where the home grown hooligans are reared.

Immigration is a problem because we cannot afford the infrastructure needed to support the uncontrolled flood of migrants. Blame the gubmint not the migrants.

  31. Bravo; I was confused, too; I couldn’t tell whether you were criticising Blackburn per se, Blackburn as represented by me, or just me…
I have no qualms about you questioning my comments/opinions; you are more than welcome to do so. I was just a bit taken aback when I returned from the park to see that not only had a debate with a few of my comments in spiralled out of all control on myT, (no surprises there) but it had also landed me in hot water here.
The arguments on MyT are brutal, red in tooth and claw, but at least everyone can let rip. Whereas here, it’s a bit more civilised; great, but yesterday it felt like a closed shop to me.
Sorry. I should probably stick to blogging about lipgloss or whatever!

  32. Claire I missed the MyT ‘out of hand’ discussion, but was surprised to see it bought over here like this.

Do we need something a little more light-hearted, now?

  33. Pseu, thanks hon..well, I give as good as I get onMyT so I guess I’m just licking me wounds 😉 I usually find the catfights most amusing – unless I happen to be in the middle of them of course!
But yes, light hearted, I can do that tonight, please 😉
