The Grand Unveiling

Ferret :

Kevmart is a bit of a wierd name choice but whatever floats your boat chum, as for your MyT ID, I always assumed that was a label you chose specifically to annoy a certain breed of bigot and therefore not necessarily a name that would suit on this site.

SPOT ON!!!

It seems incorrectly I assumed that ‘profiles’ were visible to others therefore in my profile under the info section it clearly states who I am. Bearsy kindly corrected this misunderstanding for me.

I’ll be honest I was initially loathe to join this, viewing it as yet another extension of ‘MyT’, again this turned out to be an incorrect assumption on my part …. (time to slap myself silly). However having looked in a few times I note that this place has a more civil tone than that other place. Long may this continue. The last thing I want and I hope you all want is to bring external strife on to these hallowed pages …. long may this (also) continue.

There is much we can learn from each other, none here (at least I don’t think so) can claim absolute knowledge in all things. Let this be a happy medium for learning.

Now the moment you have all been waiting for –

  1. Not to sure of that ‘furry friend’ …. reckons I’ve given her more grief than t’other siblings combined. She’s a good egg though, wouldn’t change for the world.

Oooooh and ta for welcoming us here, appreciated mate.

  2. On a serious note,

The enemies of whom you speak are equally welcome here.

The difference on DNMyT is that no-one needs to put up with abusive comments on their blogs. The choice to remove unwanted material is completely in the hands of the author.

I see from reading his Patricks Day Blog, Jack Tar does not want to join us. Ironic then that his blog has given us the second highest number of daily referrals. We should all thank him for the publicity. 🙂

  3. Ferret and welcome they should be, speaking for myself I will not be moderating any abusive comments directed at me …. however any personal abuse directed at others … well I really do not want to be party to this.

As for our friend Crusty, let him be …. he’s daft enough on his own, certainly requires no help from me, thee or anyone else.

  4. Ara, lovely to see you here also. A pleasure to be in such esteemed company especially when I have the added bonus of ‘learning’

  5. Welcome for a second time, Kev! 🙄

PS – Have a squiz in the FAQs at the “More” tag (number 5) – you’ll find it quite useful.

  6. Selam Levant, glad I caught you. Today I have been receiving many messages regarding
‘Çanakkale’ …. perhaps you could expand on this for me. What is it about?

  7. Kevmart – I noticed that you were trying the “More” tag, and not having too much success. So I’ve done it for you.
I’ve added some extra stuff which you don’t need to worry about, but have a look when you’ve got a moment and you’ll see how it’s done. 😀

  8. Welcome KM … good to see you. I’m pleased that you overcame your earlier misgivings.

    You are right:

There is much we can learn from each other, none here (at least I don’t think so) can claim absolute knowledge in all things.

It is a wise man (none of this PC nonsense count me in there!) who knows what he doesn’t know…

  9. I find your extensive blogging whilst at work reprehensible. Were you self employed it would be a different matter but I understand that you are a council employee?

As I do not pay rates in your borough I should not find it worth my while to make an international phone call to complain, but I cannot but understand those that have!

I wonder if it your faith that allows you to defraud your local rate payers? That you owe no allegiance to your employers or indeed the country? I wonder you get any work done at all the amount of time you spend on blogsites promulgating your views.

As such, I am glad you have identified yourself so that I may avoid you.

  10. Howzit Kev

You can sign my book anytime.

Who are you backing in the World Cup?

    Are you coming over?

  11. Hvala, Gospodin Bravo.

    Gdje si sada?

(For those thinking WTF …. Thanyou Mr Bravo – where are you at the moment?)

  12. Chrissy babe, I know you woudn’t turn down a ride on this slow train to Pleasuresville ….. sadly for you … all booked up.

Wind yer neck in luv, keep the ‘other site and grief’ away from here … I’m not interested. Although I have no doubt you will continue to read what I write and ‘tut tut’ to yourself … thankfully I will be spared your silly comments.

  13. Claire, thanks. Work comes first, blogging here (and the other place) is all very well but its a case of priorities.

  14. Ferret, nah your ok mate …. errrrm I’ll errrr pass on that ta. No offence like!

  15. I’ve got tickets for the quarter final to be played here in Port Elizabeth.

We all think that we’ve hit the jackpot, the way the groups pan out looks like we’ve got tickets for Brazil v Italy, has to be the top quarterfinal of the tournament, unless England play Germany in Cape Town, time will tell!

  16. Soutie, you lucky ^%^^$&(*& …… errrrr you get my drift.

    Brazil V Italy = Flair
    England V Germany = Passion

    Collectively = 2 memorable games

Damn, I wish I was going.

  17. Kev,

Ja uzhe v moskve – and the Russian is tsking over form the Serbian, as you see 🙂

    (I’m still in Moscow.)

Here’s an interesting little quirk of language. In Russian, if you say, ….”I wasn’t there,” you have to use the genitive case …… “of me not there.”
