Ball by ball – S.A. vs India

I heard yesterday that our ball by ball commentary is also an unrestricted world wide feed via the internet. I often listen via my computer, seems only fair to allow the rest of the household access to the TV.

I would be interested if fellow members would quickly open the SABC portal and let me know if the broadcast is indeed available in your country.

Here’s the link to the SABC ‘listen live‘ page, this should appear:-

On the drop down menu select Radio2000 and then ‘GO’

  1. Hi Soutie – The service is available here in Australia, thanks.

Although it should, the player didn’t work for me in Chrome. It worked, sort of, in IE8 (sound OK but player window fixed at small so I couldn’t read or action the Microsoft warning that opened).

I expect both problems are with my machine, which is severely limited in RAM.

Did I hear that the Indians are some enormous score for 6? I think I did. I shall rush to Cricinfo and find out more. If I got it right – my commiserations. 😦

  2. Ja, we’re looking at a complete reversal of the first test result, our batters collapsed theirs are doing a good job 😦

  3. Howzit Ferret, thanks, funny didn’t work in the UK, perhaps you’re thought police are still figuring out a way to tax it! https://i0.wp.com/planetsmilies.net/confused-smiley-17428.gif

“vegetative coma” what’s that some sort of vegan breakfast cereal? Catrina will be pleased πŸ™‚

  4. Yikes!!!

    I have lost my mojo!

All my funnies are NOT funny!!!!

I was taking the urine Soutie dear heart. Hear cricket commentary, instantly slip into flat-line.

I reckon you are spot on about the “how do we tax it?” question though. πŸ™‚

  5. Howzit Bravo, your obviously not listening to any cricket at the moment πŸ˜‰

Cricket starts 5.45am my time (03.45 GMT).

We are in the doo doo, need to bat for two full days to save the match, don’t hold much hope for our chances.

Oh well, we won the first one (by an innings) a series draw in India is a good result for any touring team.

  6. bip, bip, bip.., bip…, bip……., bip……………….,

  7. Soutie,

On a serious note, I have invited a new user to DNMyT. She will be posting initially as Valzone. She is a blogging goddess from MyT of old. I will leave it up to you lot to try and work out who she was known as. The girl deserves the mystery.

Could you or Bearsy make sure she gets the author status OK?

  8. Soutie – The SABC link told my relatively new (2009) Vista-loaded laptop to load Windows Media Player 11, which I did, then it told me to load Windows Media Player 11, which I did (and even did a reboot for good measure), and then it told me to load Windows Media PLayer 11…. Sob!

  9. Oz sorry for the inconvenience, thanks for trying 😳

(at least you are now the proud ‘owner’ of a new media player πŸ™‚ )

  10. Soutie!! Done a bit of fettling and can now report that the SABC portal and Radio 2000 is available in Portugal, which is more than can be said for the effing BBC’s i-player when you have a “foreign” IP. 😦

That’s been exactly my gripe, I can’t listen to BBC Sport Player when say England are playing in Aus.

I was surprised when I heard that ours was available world wide and wanted confirmation. I think that it’s fair to say that my little test was a resounding success (Aus, Russia, UK, USA, Portugal)

  12. If any are wondering why music is currently being played instead of cricket commentary play has been delayed!

A wet outfield. It sounds like it’s also very overcast, light and more rain could play a part here.

Umpire inspection due at 04.45 GMT

Should SA scrape a draw here and end up winning the series it puts us number 1 on the test playing ladder πŸ™‚
