CLT20 – free TV

I’m watching The KKR vs Somerset live on the web here – Watch Free Live Indian TV Online

I’ve compared the content and can confirm that it’s the exact same picture and commentary that my satellite service provides!

As a Firefox user I had success using ‘Server 1’ on the ‘CLT20 live’ dropdown menu, they recommend that IE users select Server 2 or 3

CLT20

Johan Botha congratulates Wayne Parnell

The Champions League has begun and what a start!

This competition brings 10 of the finest T20 teams in the world together for a single two-week tournament. 4 from India, South Africa 2, Australia 2, England. 1, West Indies 1. (there were others from New Zealand and Sri Lanka but they failed to qualify.)

My provincial team, The Chevrolet Warriors, who I have supported all my life were charged with the opening fixture against the mighty millionaire IPL outfit The Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Our Cinderella province boasting such (un)household names as Jon Jon Smuts, Craig Thyssen, Justin Kreush and a few aging retired internationals (Prince, Boucher, Boje) provided the fans (and me, I couldn’t watch the last 3 balls) with a nailbiter.

Here’s a match report,  in summary RCB batted first and made a formidable 172, our guys, forever behind the run rate had explosive 4th, 3rd, and 2nd last overs to get the target down to 7 from six balls, here’s how it went..

dot, dot, wicket, 1 (now needing 6 from 2!) 4,2.

Unbelievable stuff.

At 10:30 gmt our other side The Cape Cobras take on the Aussie NSW Blues.

Our home grown Makhaya advertises the Champions League

Are we blessed or what? Just two months after the Football World Cup The Champions League T20 (effectively the club world championship) started in South Africa over the weekend and we’re a host city!

A 16 day non-stop jamboree of bright lights, fireworks, entertainment and cricket action as only those Indian billionaires know how.

Eastern Province (where I live) won the S.A. competition last year, I think our first trophy since the days of Kepler all those years ago and as holders are automatic entrants.

The competition comprises the top teams from around the world, India(3), Oz(2), W.indies, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and 2 from S.A. England appear to have thrown their toys out the cot and are not participating this year (they sent 2 sides last year)

So, we have 10 teams, 2 sections of five with the top 2 in each progressing to the semi-final stage.

Advertising down here is large, outdoor, press, radio and TV.

Our home side The Chevrolet Warriors (GM has a factory here) are playing their second game tonight against the Victorian Bushrangers, an Ozzie outfit who have won four of the last five Ozzie competitions that boasts the likes of Nannes, Siddle, Harwood, McGain, Hodge, Hussey (David) and the dangerous Andrew McDonald. Tickets are a reasonable 30 rand (£2.50) Continue reading “CLT20 – I like it !!!”
