  1. As Boycs pointed out today, Aussies have their own tradition of not walking – but the question didn’t arise for any of the home batsmen today; they were simply OUT.

  2. Catch it while you can!

At the moment of typing, the Wikipedia entry for the Brisbane Courier Mail, the paper behind the ‘Ban Broad’ movement which usually refers to him as ‘a 27 year old medium pacer’ to avoid naming him, has the following sentence in that entry.

‘he paper is most famous for its strong support of England cricketer Stuart Broad and has been widely praised for starting the campaign which motivated him to a five wicket haul at the start of this Ashes series’

And, acccording to Aggers on TMS,, SB has just walked into his press conference with a copy of the Courier Mail under his arm. .

  3. Soutie :

    Caught it :)

As I understand it, Soutie, the umpire did not give Broad out, and you should never argue with the umpire!

  4. As Sheona says the umpire did not give Broad out – and that should be enough.

So Broad is arrogant and played to the rules… so? it’s about time that the Ozzies recognised that they are also arrogant – especially when they are winners and will play to the rules as well…

What no one can deny is that Broad’s a good bowler and our top order batsmen are incapable of dealing with him.

  5. What an abysmal batting performance by England, hats off to Broad for showing a bit of spunk there at the end
