Allegedly sixty people in London took exception to this bus and asked the Advertising Standards Authority to can it.
Now apart from the fact that the campaign would be more effective if conducted in several foreign languages, it strikes me as a highly relevant approach to a growing problem.
No more Mr Nice Guy.
Whatever next?
Have you broken into a home recently?
Why not be a good citizen and take the ill gotten goods back
Did you park on a yellow line recently?
Why not send a £50 note to your local council
Did you mix vegetable / food waste with the recyclable paper / cardboard rubbish bin this week?
Why not volunteer 50 hours community service at your local recycling plant
I can’t see a problem with it.
The Mr / Mrs Nice Guys here are complaining that the latest policy to stop asylum seekers entering illegally by boat is cruel and inhuman. As from a couple of weeks ago anyone who enters Australia by boat without a valid visa will never be settled here – but will be settled in PNG – not such a desirable destination. Guess what – the would be illegals are already demanding their money back from people smugglers in Indonesia!
At last it is being pointed out that these people are, in fact, queue jumpers. Refugees, like my friend, who spent two years in a camp waiting to be processed, are quite delighted by the latest ruling.
Apparently a leader of the Sikh community has said that there are many illegals from India in the UK who would like to go home but have no money and in many cases no papers. The people smugglers took their cash and told them to destroy their passports. It would be a good move to send them home so they can warn others about these criminals.
I never could quite understand the objection to identity cards. No cards, no rights to anything.
End of—
They wouldn’t come then if they were able to starve on the streets.
The British govt are the biggest set of complete tossers ever. Were there a will to sort it could be done well inside a year.
Christina, I agree about ID cards. Here in Vikingland I have one which I received on becoming a resident. It doubles as a health card with my doctor’s details, a library card and proof of identity in myriad situations (remember, I’m an immigrant!). It limits my freedom no more or less than my driving licence or bank cards; and it certainly ensures that I am recognised as NOT an illegal!
