15 minutes with Backside, 1

I see that schools are now prohibiting girls from wearing skirts, insisting on trousers just like the boys wear. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hereford-worcester-23522499

Well, it was never an issue when I were a lad because schools were segregated, so the lasses were never inspired to reveal too much leg or wha’ever. In fact the trouble always starts when boys and girls are thrown together, innit?

The solution is to dress all girls in floor-length gowns, with bags on their heads. No show, no see, no problem. Sound familiar?

  1. Môre Jay

    I remember the days ….

We had hair inspections, not allowed to touch our collars and the girls had hem inspections, so many cm above the knee, they had to kneel if I remember?

Mind you the teachers could whack us back then!

  2. If you have another spare 15 minutes this made me laugh…

“A girl of 12 was banned from selling homemade cupcakes to her classmates – because her mother does not have a food hygiene certificate.”

The mum was however told that she was welcome to buy cakes from an authorized hygienically approved cakeseller (i.e. a shop) and forward them on (i.e donate them) to the school for resale, ha ha, you couldn’t make it up 🙂

  3. G’dag, Soutie! Yes, the dreaded shoe and hair inspection at assembly with Piggy Shore, the deputy head! A man of few words: “Blenkinsop, my office at break!” 😦

  4. I am not sure that religion is an appropriate tag seeing that to all intents and purposes Britain is an areligious country. It is the ridiculous culture of political correctness, which most religions would eschew, that is driving this idiotic behaviour.

And Doreen Lawrence is to be made a peer. Britain has become and embarrassing cess pit. of stupidity.

Meanwhile here in Zimbabwe, ZANU-PF seems to have stolen yet another election courtesy of the Israeli company Nikuv, http://nipprojects.com/ which has been employed by that party to rig the results.

  5. Sipu, the tag refers to the C of E school involved and my unsubtle reference to islamic practices. I think I prefer British stupidity to African chicanerie!

  6. I remember the girls leaving home with knee length skirts, rolling the waistbands as soon as they were away from home, letting the down again in school and rolling them back up again after school.

  7. How odd! When I worked in a C of E school in the UK, many years ago, – I was told that my trousers were ‘inappropriate’. The head changed his mind when I pointed out that my trousers were more ‘appropriate’ than the 14 inch mini-skirts that I normally wore outside school!

I find this directive appalling. At three years of age, daughter no 1 stated very forcibly that she would not, under any circumstances, wear trousers or jeans – and I saw no reason whatsoever to force her to do so.

The head of that school should count his blessings that I don’t have a daughter at his school! I’d suggest that, if he wants to have a ‘uniform’ uniform, he should insist on skirts for all. 🙂
