Maybe I shouldn’t tell you, but I’m an ordinary person from an ordinary background; the sort of chap (allegedly) Cameron should be appealing to, if he is to hold on to the high immoral ground he inherited from the Blair/Brown tendency. In that case, then, let me say that he should take a leaf out of Beppe Grillo’s book and talk turkey, so to speak. The Italian has the advantage is that he is a comedian by profession rather than by accident, unlike Cameron, and can speak from the heart without risking his reputation. He says Italy’s disastrous economic plight may have to be solved by leaving the Euro and starting again with the Lira. Such honesty is unheard of in the gilded committee rooms of Brussels. Greece should have admitted it years ago. So Cameron should simply tell it like it is. Tell Beppe he’s right. Tell Hollande he’s pathetic. Tell the Scottish nationalists to go ahead and leave and see where it gets them. Tell Rebekka he fancies her rotten. Tell Cleggover to get a life or a party or both. And ask Boris to take over the Tories. Sorted.
Eh? Cameron had a reputation to risk? Really?
The cretinous slug would not have got any further than his local comprehensive without his father’s money! I very much doubt his IQ is very much more than that of a frozen pea!
I think they used to be called flim flam men!
I just love the Italian sense of humour, a comedian, excellent. Couldn’t possibly do any worse than the current lot. A great shame Eastleigh didn’t go the whole hog and put in UKIP, a bloody liberal instead, I ask you.
I do hope they get their just desserts, a nice mosque with fancy minarets in the centre of town and a Roma encampment in the local park. They need both, of that I am quite sure! Should concentrate the minds of a few.
The sooner the whole Euro chimera collapses the better for most of us, actually I cannot believe that it has lasted this long. A bizarre sight, the top and bottom of society parasiting off the middle. It would make an interesting scifi movie involving an opening shot of sandwiches where the bread top and bottom started eating the filling!
Cameron has to be a failure – he hasn’t managed to inspire my mother (now 91) who has been a life-long Tory supporter!
While most sensible people can see that the only solution to the problems of the individual countries of Europe can only be solved by that country withdrawing from the Euro – there is little chance that any country will take that sensible course – there are too many with vested interests in keeping the present system going.
I’m not sure which would be worse:for the ‘little man’ of Europe (or for the rest of the world) – keeping the Euro afloat or letting the Euro drown.
