Singalongabing

Oh, the weather outside is  frightful

But the fire is so delightful

And since we’ve no place to go

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

– not that we have any choice here in the Baltic Badlands ‘cos we have a snowstorm right now and are promised 10 inches today. Very pretty – not.

Oh,  a sparkler would make me better

I’d don a thick warm sweater

And write rude words and show

That I don’t much approve of the snow

  1. G’morgen Janus. It’s a beautiful morning here – clear blue skies, 18º, yada, yada, although they’ve had snow in the mountains oop north this week It being Sunday, the hunters are out and about blasting away at anything that moves while their wives potter off to Mass. The only cloud on the horizon is that I’m suffering from a particularly virulent bout of wolf flu at present and feeling very sorry for myself.

  2. We left the south of France in bright sunshine yesterday but the rest of France was covered in solid cloud, with quite a lot of turbulence. (They really must sort out those potholes!) Here in England we have sunshine too this morning. Stay by the fire with a Glühwein, Janus.

  3. At the moment the Upper Midwest is experiencing a major snow storm with the Minneapolis-St Paul region hardest hit. We have roughly 10 inches now and still some time to go before this storm moves away. It is currently -1 C but is supposed to fall to -21 tonight.

I’m sending you some lamb-flavoured wolf hooch to cheer you up. 🙂

  5. 10 inches? A mere bagatelle!
Actually when it gets that much it is a bugger trying to find the Jack Russells, they tend to disappear!
Actually here in the lowlands it is neither raining or snowing today, something must have gone wring! We have snow on ‘our’ local mountain behind us, but one cannot really see how much as it is 5000′ above us.

Sheona if you go back and forth much more you might as well live on that bloody aeroplane!!! Forget any houses either end!
Oz large hot toddies are the order of the day.

  6. Thank you all for your kind thoughts. Wolf flu, as we all know, is the worst flu of all by a country mile and would see off lesser mortals, but I shall prevail with the copious application of lamb-flavoured hooch and hot toddies. The NSW is banned from The Cave for the interim lest she takes the bug to work and sees off all the inmates residents.
